Electrical Distribution Companies Want Us to Subsidize New Pipeline Construction with Electric Bill Tariffs

DPU Dockets #16-05, 16-07 and 15-181

These requests are from National Grid and Eversource, asking the DPU permission to place a tariff on their electric customers to subsidize their costs related to the construction of Kinder Morgan’s Northeast Energy Direct and Spectra’s Access Northeast, sealing in TWENTY YEAR commitments for capacity on those pipelines.

Kinder Morgan wants access to people’s land to survey
DPU Dockets #16-01, 16-02, 16-03
These requests are for access to over 400 properties in Massachusetts where landowners have denied permission to survey.  These surveys are not merely scope-sighting, but involves cutting brush and trees up to 2” in diameter and drilling bore holes for geotechnical survey.
