WELCOME!  WELCOME BACK!
For those who are just stepping on campus, and for those back for another year, welcome. And not just welcome, but for us here at Christ Chapel, we say welcome in Jesus' name.  He is the model of welcome, and we try to imitate him as best we can. He welcomed all kinds of people - rich, poor, sick, well, curious, condemned, rascals and the righteous.  And so we welcome you, whatever label you may use or have been given.  We see you first and foremost as the object of God's undying love in Christ, and if God sees you as so very valuable, we want to do the same.  So read what's happening in the days and weeks ahead, and plan on joining us, where our welcome can be more than words.

EVERY WEEK STUFF

Every week, you can count on these things happening...

MONDAYS: BOBCAT LUNCH - A free home-made lunch served from 12:00 - 1:00.  There's always a vegetarian option. The Hays County Food Bank is on site for those who may need groceries.

WEDNESDAYS: BREAD + BELONGING, 5:30  An experiential time of worship and reflection.  The content varies each week, but we always start with a loaf of fresh-baked bread.

THURSDAYS: PAUSE FOR PRAYER,
12:00 -12:15.  A brief service with candles lit in prayer, sharing, and songs.

SUNDAYS: WORSHIP WITH EUCHARIST, 5:30 - 6:30.  Our weekly service always includes Communion.  A free supper follows on the last Sunday of each month.

MONDAY - FRIDAY: HIGHER GROUNDS COFFEE HOUSE, 8:30 - 12:30 (and usually later).  Free, organic, fair-trade coffee, lots of types of tea, and usually some snacks are there for the taking.

AND EVERY MONTH...

God Goes to the Movies-  A night to watch a movie and talk about how God and the human condition are handled.  This month's movie will be chosen by students and shown on September 25th at 7:00.

Faith and Food - A Bible Study that begins with a snack and then covers a portion of the Bible.  This month: Grilled Cheese and Galatians 1.  September 11, 5:00 p.m.

Returners: I look forward to seeing you.  New Students: I look forward to meeting you. So does Frida. She's the one on the left. Call me if you want more information or need directions on how to find our place.  We're right across the street from the UAC Bus Stop in a building that looks a lot like a church, marked UCM and Christ Chapel.  I know the first time through the door is the hardest, but give us a try and you will find a real welcome from real people who will accept you just the way you are.
                                                      -Pastor Jaime
