Questions? Please contact Lisa at lkjentvet@madisonyouthchoirs.org. Thanks!
Boychoir & Girlchoir Host Families Still Needed
We are close! Just eight more boychoir and eight more girlchoir families are needed to provide overnight hosting to the visiting Heartland Youth Choir on Tuesday, June 13. Con Gioia is the official choir hosting the event but all boychoir families (and all MYC families, regardless of ensemble) are invited to also host and participate in the evening concert (singing Blowin' in the Wind!) as Heartland is bringing 16 boys to Madison.

Singers will come together at 5pm for singing, activities and dinner prior to the 7pm concert at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Middleton. Host families will return their visiting choristers the next morning to St. Luke's after providing breakfast (and a good night's sleep!). Thank you for opening your home! Questions? Please email Lisa Kjentvet.

Scotland 2018 Tour
Informational Meeting
All Purcell, Britten, Holst and Ragazzi singers and parents are strongly encouraged to attend the Scotland 2018 Tour Meeting on Thursday, June 8, from 6-7pm at Covenant Presbyterian Church in the sanctuary. Whether your interest is at 2% or 98%, we hope to see you there!  We will be presenting details on cost, timeline, chaperoning and how you can begin preparing NOW for this amazing opportunity.
The Handel Aria Competition
The final round of the Handel Aria Competition competition will be presented as a public concert on Friday, June 9, at 7:30 in Mills Hall of the Humanities Building, University of Wisconsin-Madison Mead Witter School of Music. MYC singers and parents are invited to request a complimentary ticket by emailing handelariacompetition@gmail.com at least 48 hours in advance of June 9. These tickets are generously provided by Dean and Orange Schroeder, the founders of this competition and long-time friends of Madison Youth Choirs.

Tickets for the general public are $15 and will be available at the door.
Turning in Music and Wardrobe
Please double-check to see if your singer still has music in their binder. Music can be returned to the MYC office at any time (use the bin or wire basket outside the door if we are closed). Thank you for labeling with your singer's name and ensemble!

Cantabile & Ragazzi: your music will be returned after our June 3 concert at Holy Wisdom (we'll have bins available that day.)

Singers NOT returning to MYC next season, please return your concert wardrobe and your red MYC polo to the MYC office. All items should be clearly marked with your name--masking tape works well.

Everyone else: please wait until choir placements for next season are communicated (early June) to see if your wardrobe is changing before turning anything in.
2017-18 Season Intention Forms
We are still accepting singer intention forms and deposits for next season. Submitting your intention form ensures you will receive the time-sensitive 2017-18 placement and registration forms scheduled for delivery to families in early June. (Please email Lynn if you need this information resent to you.)

If your singer is eligible to audition, please submit your intention form and then reserve your audition time using the link below:

Stage Q Auditions for Falsettos
StageQ, Inc. will hold auditions for Falsettos, book by James Lapine and William Finn, music and lyrics by William Finn.  Directed by Michael Bruno, Falsettos will be presented on the Drury Stage at The Bartell Theatre, running September 29th through October 14th, 2017.

Auditions will be held Sunday and Monday, July 2nd and 3rd at 6:00pm at the StageQ Rehearsal Space in the Porchlight building, 306 N. Brooks St., downtown Madison.  Callbacks will be held on Wednesday, July 5th at 6:00pm at the StageQ Rehearsal Space.  If you cannot make it to auditions, video submissions will be accepted.  Contact director Michael Bruno at bruno@stageq.com to make those arrangements.

There is one role, Jason (pre-teen/teen, tenor) that MYC singers might be interested in. First read through will be Tuesday, August 1st at 6:00pm at the StageQ rehearsal space. Auditioners should be prepared to read sides from the script, perform a contemporary musical song and sing 32 bars from the score.

Synopsis: A seamless pairing of March of the Falsettos and Falsettoland, acclaimed Off Broadway musicals written nearly a decade apart, Falsettos is the tale of Marvin, who leaves his wife and young son to live with another man. His ex-wife marries his psychiatrist, and Marvin ends up alone. Two years later, Marvin is reunited with his lover on the eve of his son’s bar mitzvah, just as AIDS is beginning its insidious spread.
