Synod LEAD Journey Update
In February 2017, six congregations from Southeastern Iowa embarked on a journey of congregational renewal through a partnership with LEAD. Last week was the second learning seminar where teams from each congregation shared what has been happening and prepared for the next steps. In addition to sharing with each other we learned about how spiritual practices strengthen our relationship with God and allow us to be more open to the Spirit's movement in our communities and world. Watch for stories from each congregation as we share how God is working to renew communities of faith.

The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
January 18-25, 2018

The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is a longstanding expression of the ecumenical movement - a worldwide movement among Christians to heal divisions with the Church. It also promotes dialogue among churches and Christian communities and encourages Christians everywhere to better understand and reflect the implications of  "one Lord, one faith, one baptism."

Each year from January 18-25, Christians are encouraged to pray together as a sign of the unity that is already theirs in Christ. Learn more about the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.

Please also visit the Ecumenical and Inter-Religious website of the ELCA for ecumenical events, news, resources, and other times of interest.
