New MYC Semester Begins January 31
In just ten days on Sunday, January 31, our second semester of MYC will be underway. We are all looking forward to continuing to explore the Give Light theme and seeing everyone back together again over Zoom!

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED: If you have not yet renewed your registration, please take a moment to do so. Our most recent reminder was emailed on January 8--do a quick search of your inbox for all the info you need to register. The subject line is "MYC Renewal Reminder for..." The deadline to register is Friday, January 29. Questions? Please ask!

Do You Know Someone Who Would Like to Join MYC?
We would love to chat with them! Please direct them to the Join a Choir page or have them email us directly. 

For younger students, ages 7-10, our winter session of introductory choir begins on January 31 and registration is now open on our website. Students in grades 5 and above are invited to meet with us over Zoom to be placed in an ensemble before January 31. 

Opportunity for FREE Voice Lessons with UW
Attention high school MYC singers: are you interested in a great opportunity to meet in groups of one or two singers and get a FREE weekly voice lesson while developing your skills and increasing your singing confidence? Keep reading!

The Details
  • Lessons will be offered via Zoom for 20-25 minutes and will be led by a UW-Madison graduate voice student (or advanced undergraduate) under the supervision of their professors (who will pop into the lessons from time to time).
  • Lessons will be offered in groups of one or two students at a time and there will always be multiple teachers or multiple students on the call (never just 1:1).
  • All teachers will have completed a background check
  • Lessons begin mid-February and go through early May and a weekly commitment to attending is required

Any other requirements? 
  • for high school MYC singers who have the interest and enthusiasm for trying this and the willingness to sing individually over Zoom
  • a computer/microphone/video setup for Zoom (internal microphone is fine)
  • availability to commit weekly in one of these time slots: Tuesdays, 4-5pm; Wednesdays, 10-11am; or Thursdays, 4-5pm

ARTS for ALL Wisconsin Call for Art
ARTS for ALL Wisconsin invites submissions of artwork and poetry from Wisconsin residents with disabilities ages five and up as part of the annual Call for Art, an entirely free program for all entrants.

All submissions are juried by arts professionals who look for creativity, originality, and craftsmanship in awarding ten visual artworks and four poems. All entries will be part of the 2021 Virtual Call for Art Exhibition online in April and May, providing public recognition of hundreds of individuals with disabilities at the Call for Art Event.

Submissions accepted now through March 17, 2021.
