Come and join us at Carol Joy Holing Camp in Ashland NE as we spend two days living into the how-to’s of generating and sustaining a vibrant faith in Jesus Christ for today’s world. We believe effective, transformational ministry will happen by focusing on these two key areas :

           Transforming Relationships-

We all know that ministry is relational, but have we truly explored that in a way that leads to people of all ages experiencing transforming relationships in our congregations and communities? Instead of creating programs to “get people to come” we can surround people with what they need so they are more likely to grow in their faith.

Digital Engagement - There is deep opportunity in connecting in digital space too. This is about forming faith, making and sustaining disciples, building community, and following Jesus – when we gather face to face, and when we connect online.

We hope you will bring a team and join us!! Poster and Registration available below!!

Exploring Transitions
Especially designed for rostered leaders, but also anyone in the midst of a life transition

Exploring Transitions provides a time away to explore one’s personal life’s callings, passions, meaning, and purpose.  Times of transition offer unique opportunities for reflection and action.  Participants may be discerning a new call, facing a major life decision, loss of loved one or health, or thinking about retirement. Transitions are often made easier when time is spent listening, letting go, and trusting God’s guidance.  These retreats will incorporate liturgy (scripture, poetry, and music from a variety of sources), discussion, guided listening, Sabbath and walking together.

Exploring Transitions was created and is co-facilitated by Tammy Devine and Michael Larson.  There are 4 Exploring Transition retreats: Exploring Transitions: Crossing Over, Exploring Transitions: True to Myself, Exploring Transitions: Life’s Detours and Roadblocks and Exploring Transitions: Living Well, each retreat is a stand-alone opportunity or participants have attended all four.   Attached please find information about two April offerings (the schedule for each retreat follows the same format).  These retreats are a safe space for individuals to go deeper, to reflect and walk with others in the midst of a life transition who are seeking to embrace a healthier transition.

True to Myself - April 18-20

As has been true of other past gatherings, this one will be done jointly with another Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) ethnic association, the Association of Asian and Pacific Islanders.  Arrival at Elim Lutheran Church in the suburb of Robbinsdale is anytime after 3 p.m. with the meal and worship together on Wednesday evening.  Throughout the 3 days together other meals, worship, a panel discussion, and a Talent Show will be done jointly.  We will meet for our own Business Assembly to elect officers and Board of Director members plus discussion of and action on other items related to our future.  However, the highlight may be introduction to most of the ELCA’s Transforming White Privilege (TWP) participant modules on Friday morning and afternoon plus Saturday morning.  TWP will be one tool available to synods for their use in helping fulfill the 2016 ELCA Churchwide Assembly resolution that they provide some antiracism training.  Faculty, staff, and students from Luther Seminary, St. Paul are also expected to be present for Friday and Saturday plus some other times.

As previously announced registration including housing at Marriott Spring Hill Suites, Minneapolis West/St. Louis Park is $350 for a two person room, meals, and program materials or $550 for a single person room.  In addition a $125 commuter fee with meals, student registration of $50, and only Friday and Saturday TWP training with lunch for $30 are available.  As mentioned in earlier announcements, registrations with housing must be completed by March 10.  More information and registration can be found here!
