Introductory Choir: Seats Available
Classes begin in just about two weeks and we still have seats available in all of our sessions. Registration is open on our website. Classes are offered on Sunday afternoon or Tuesday evening at Westgate as well as Saturday mornings at Lake Edge Lutheran Church. Introductory choir is the first step for students ages 7-10 who are interested in participating with MYC. Thank you for sharing with your friends and neighbors who might be interested!

Ragazzi: Two Concerts at Capitol Theater in May
As part of our Legacy theme, the singers in Ragazzi have excitedly expressed interest in joining their younger boychoir colleagues in May on their Saturday evening concert. This means Ragazzi will perform both on Saturday evening, May 11, (alone and with Purcell, Britten, and Holst) as well as on Sunday evening, May 12, with Cantabile and Cantilena.

Calendars are updated to add Ragazzi to the Saturday, May 11, dress rehearsal and concert. Please let us know if you have an immovable conflict.

Minneapolis Youth Chorus | Con Gioia
We also look forward to welcoming the Minneapolis Youth Chorus to Madison on Saturday, May 18. Con Gioia will be the host choir--thank you for marking your calendars (ensemble calendar has already been updated). Time and place TBD.

Our final and most important fundraising campaign of the season--It's MYChoir (IMC)-- begins this weekend! IMC is both a fundraising campaign and an opportunity for members and staff to share with the wider community the importance of music education and the benefits it provides. All singers will be receiving information packets at rehearsal and we will be providing weekly reminders and tips for how to participate over the next six weeks. The first step is easy--just read through the packet with your singer(s) and make a plan.

Because tuition covers less than 50% of the total cost of participation, fundraising is a necessary part of MYC membership. We count on families to embrace their fundraising contribution goal each year to help cover the tuition gap. We'll be sending updated statements to families in the coming days so you have a snapshot of your fundraising progress to date.

This is an organization-wide campaign engaging singers, staff and board members with the goal of 100% participation and $38,000 raised. We define participation by contacting at least one person outside of your immediate family and sharing your MYC story with them--easy!

Thank you for paying attention to your fundraising progress and participating in this campaign--please watch for the packet to come home with your singer this weekend and keep an eye on this space each week for reminders and tips!
