Looking Ahead to Our 2016-17 Season:
Intention Forms and Auditions
Conductors will be spending a few minutes in rehearsals this weekend talking about our audition and placement process for next season as well as giving each singer their individualized intention form to be returned to the MYC office by May 2. The intention form and accompanying information sheet will also be delivered to parents via email early next week. Thank you for carefully reading through this information with your singer and contacting us with any questions or concerns. Your timely return of the intention form and deposit for next season is appreciated as it allows us to better plan for our (amazing!) 2016-17 season.

Spring Outreach Tours
It's time to get on the bus! Our spring outreach tour days are fast approaching (see calendar reminders below) and we are looking forward to performing for thousands of Dane County residents who have invited us to their school or retirement home.

What Happens on Tour Day?
Singers meet at and depart from Westgate Mall around 8am and return around 3pm. Specific itinerary details for each choir are linked below. Each ensemble travels by bus to four different venues throughout the day performing selections from their season repertoire for audience members who might not ever have the opportunity to attend one of our concerts. It's a tremendous day of making music, forging friendships, and building lasting memories together.

This day is always remembered as a highlight of the MYC experience for our singers. Each tour is a full day and we ask that you excuse your singer from school to participate in this important community outreach event. The dates have been published on your calendar since the beginning of the season and we assume each singer is participating as everyone is important to the ensemble: please make sure you have taken note of your singer's tour day and have communicated the absence to your school. If you need a written explanation for the absence, we have provided a brief description linked below.

Tour Dates and Itineraries
Monday, April 25: Choraliers | Con Gioia
Tuesday, April 26: Purcell and Holst
Wednesday, April 27: Cantabile and Ragazzi
Thursday, April 28: Cantilena | Britten
Friday, April 29: Capriccio

Want to ride along and lend a hand? Parent chaperones are needed for each tour. Please email Lisa Kjentvet with your interest. Due to limited space on the bus, we may not be able to take everyone who expresses interest. Thank you for understanding.

Spring Concert Dress Rehearsals
As a reminder, dress rehearsals are required in order to sing in the spring concert and an appeals form should be submitted if you have an immovable, unavoidable conflict.

We will provide specific details in the coming weeks along with a sign up for backstage help for Saturday's rehearsals but in the mean time, please take a moment to review your singer's calendar so you understand when they need to be at the Capitol Theater (downtown) on Saturday, May 7 and/or Sunday, May 8.

MYC Tuition and Fundraising Statements
Updated tuition and fundraising statements will be emailed to families this week. Families who have not yet met their fundraising contribution goal may do so by writing a check for the unmet portion. This is considered a tax-deductible donation to MYC. Participating in fundraising allows MYC to continue offering its rich array of programs without raising tuition. Thank you for paying attention to your progress toward raising $200!

Some of you may still be receiving It's MYChoir donations which we will continue to record on your fundraising statement. Thank you for submitting your donations to the MYC office as soon as possible. Don't forget to include a donor record form for each donation you submit!
