If you're planning a Mexican nspired meal this week for Cinco de Mayo then Salsa will probably be on your table.  Making salsa at home just takes a knife and some veggies, as in this Easy Mexican Salsa Recipe, pictured on the left.  But to tell you the truth you really don't need a recipe to make salsa.

I've provided some ingredient measurements but this is one dish that you can easily modify by increasing or decreasing the amount of any ingredient to suit your tastes.  You can also add other ingredients such as beans, corn, diced fruit or other spices.

A popular recipe on my site is the Fish Taco Recipe with a Mango Salsa.  This salsa from this recipe can easily be made as a stand alone dish for an appetizer or snack as shown below.

This Mango Salsa recipe, that was submitted by a reader, can be used on fish tacos, over grilled chicken and would be great served over pork

Mango Salsa Recipe:
Mango Salsa:
1 fresh mango
1 cucumber
1 red bell pepper
1-2 fresh jalapenos
3-4 tbsp. lime juice

Cube mango and cucumber into small cubes, place in bowl. Chop red pepper into small chunks, add to bowl. Finely chop jalapenos and add to mixture, as well as lime juice. Mix together, and allow to chill.

If you like mangoes, This Mango Bean Dip is also a hearty salsa recipe I received from a friend years ago and have made many times.

Feel free to add your comments at the bottom of this Salsa Recipe Page  or on Facebook you like to make homemade salsa and have other suggestions for how to spice it up!

Hope you have a great week!
