Update from the Director

As we move from Spring to Summer, the number of business development activities continues to increase. Many of the more recent inquiries have come from company officials currently operating within the Greater Southern California area. They are seeking locations close to California that are suitable in terms of climate, regulations, workforce, etc. for their operations, as well as a manageable commute back and forth to California.

As a part of the update to GPREP’s current Action Plan as noted in the newsletter, a comprehensive marketing plan is being developed to ensure we are trying to attract as much attention to the region as possible. Marketing will include promoting the website, buildings and sites, community profiles, and print materials; conducting direct digital marketing campaigns; attending trade shows; meeting with site selectors; and building capacity within the region. The rapid changes in technology enable us to be creative and reach large numbers of prospective customers quickly and rather inexpensively.

We are always open to ideas and suggestions from the public, stakeholders, investors, and partners. If you would like an update on what is happening in GPREP, please do not hesitate to contact me. The more people who are engaged, the more successes we will have in growing and diversifying the regional economy.
See you soon,

Richard Heath

Eblasts Targeting Industry Sectors

During the month of May, a series of Eblasts will be emailed by staff from Site Location Partnership (SLP) to targeted industry sectors, site selectors, and business associations. Five industry sectors are: aerospace/defense/MRO; metal fabrication/precision metalworking; firearms/ammunition; medical devices/electromedical equipment; and packaging materials. These sectors were chosen based on our business community and the core curriculum focus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and Yavapai College. Individualized messages were created for each industry sector highlighting the advantages of locating their business here in the Greater Prescott Region. The Eblasts are one component of a comprehensive marketing package to promote the region to attract new companies, skilled labor, and investment to the region. Follow-ups to these Eblasts will be provided in future newsletters.
