Purcell and Britten families,
We're excited to share another wonderful opportunity with you. We're looking for 8-12 singers (sopranos & altos) to join the Madison Bach Musicians in a performance of Handel's Messiah, April 8 and 10. They've asked us to have boys learn just three movements: the famous “Hallelujah” chorus, “Worthy is the Lamb," and the concluding “Amen” chorus.

The pieces are quite challenging, but of course rewarding to sing. This opportunity will take extra time: Extra rehearsals, extra work on your own at home (with a CD), and the two performances.

The details:
March 2, 9, 16, and 30, 4-5:30pm, Van Hise Elementary Music Room (near West side of Madison), along with a few Monday nights we might ask you to come early to run through the pieces.

Dress Rehearsals
Wednesday, April 6 (evening; exact times TBA), First Congregational Church in Madison
April 7 (evening; exact times TBA), First Congregational Church in Madison

Friday, April 8, 7:30 pm, First Congregational Church in Madison
Sunday, April 10 3:30pm, First Congregational Church in Madison

The timing is tight: We need to decide on the group VERY soon, since we'll want to start rehearsing next week, and we only have room for a small group of singers, so please let us know by this Friday, February 26 if you are interested and available for all rehearsals/performances. We'll get back to you by Monday with the final list of singers selected.

There is also an opportunity for a boy soprano solo, who will be chosen from the boys selected for the chorus.

Please respond quickly, after confirming that your singer is available for all rehearsals and performances.

Margaret, Randy, and Mike
