Camp Day Volunteers Still Needed
Please consider joining us on Saturday! We have a variety of volunteer opportunities and encourage parents to consider lending a hand. Take a look at the options below then click the Join Us button to volunteer.

Ensemble Chaperone
Depending upon the ensemble this could be a very busy or very low-key day! Chaperones enjoy the sneak peek into our upcoming season and the opportunity to experience how MYC teaches and rehearses. Chaperones arrive a bit early and are prepared to help in any way asked throughout the day. Flexibility, energy and a smile are all that's needed!

Greeters arrive a bit early, smile and direct "traffic."

Set Up and Tear Down
If you attend MCDS or live near Waunakee this might be a convenient way to lend a hand!

Wardrobe Fittings This Sunday, September 17
Choraliers | Con Gioia | Capriccio | Cantilena | Cantabile | Ragazzi

No rehearsals on Sunday! Instead, we are fitting singers with their concert wardrobe between 3PM and 5PM.

You may come at any time during this window, but please plan to arrive no later than 4:45PM so you have time to finish the fitting process. Because we have limited access to staff, our rehearsal studios and our wardrobe, we ask that you make every effort to spend 20 minutes with us on Sunday to take care of this detail as it's  challenging for us to schedule individual fitting appointments.

Who Do We Need to See on Sunday?
  • Singers who are new to MYC
  • Singers who moved from Con Gioia to Capriccio (new dress!)
  • Singers who moved from Capriccio to Cantilena (new dress!)
  • Singers who moved from Holst to Ragazzi (new duds!)
  • Singers who have outgrown their current wardrobe (same duds, new size)

All wardrobe that no longer fits or belongs to your previous ensemble should be returned, clearly marked with your name. If your red polo still fits, please keep it. You may bring your wardrobe on Sunday.

(Remember: singers who did not move ensembles or who moved from Choraliers to Con Gioia or from Cantilena to Cantabile have the same wardrobe as last year. We only need to see you if you've outgrown your items.)

This is a huge undertaking for MYC staff and we appreciate your cooperation in prioritizing this fitting date on Sunday. Thank you for making every effort to spend 15-20 minutes with us on Sunday (hours before the Packers play!).

Purcell, Britten and Holst will be fitted in early October.

Finally, please consider volunteering to help on Sunday! Volunteers make the process move more swiftly for everyone--your help is very much appreciated. Opportunities are included on the sign up linked below. Thank you!
Rehearsal Parent Opportunity: Smiles Wanted!
MYC Rehearsal Parents have the wonderful job of greeting our singers at every rehearsal (with a smile!) and marking their attendance on the ensemble roster. Rehearsal parents commit to arriving 10-15 minutes before rehearsal begins to be in place and ready to take attendance. Once everyone is checked in, phone calls are made to singers who are absent without prior notification.

Rehearsal Parents are needed for Purcell and Cantilena.

Please email Lynn if you are interested and to get more information. Thank you!
Invitation to New Families on Camp Day
New families are invited to a brief welcome session on camp day designed to provide an introduction to successfully navigating the myriad details of the MYC experience. We want your year with us to be positive and this session will help get you started off on the right foot! Plan to stick around for about 45 minutes after dropping off your singer. We'll meet in the registration area. (Don't worry, it will be obvious where to be!)
Are You an MYC Enthusiast?
Be a Resource for New Families!
If you are a returning MYC family who has successfully navigated a season with us and you have enthusiasm to spare, you're invited to attend our welcome session for new MYC families on camp day to extend hospitality and provide your perspective on being part of the MYC community. We especially need representatives from Choraliers and Con Gioia. Thank you for considering this opportunity to help welcome our new families!
Fall Introductory Choir Classes
If you have a younger singer in your family (age 7-10) or know a youngster interested in enrolling in our fall introductory choir program, we encourage you to register soon as our sessions are filling up. Classes begin the third week of September and are offered on Sunday afternoon, Tuesday evening, or Saturday morning (Lake Edge Lutheran location in Monona).  Registration is open on our website!
Special Opportunity to Participate in
WPR's 100th Anniversary Celebration

The event features public radio favorites Ari Shapiro, Anne Strainchamps, Dasha Kelly Hamilton, and many more! Our singers will join WYSO musicians, area singers, and Dr. Jonathan Overby in a performance of John Lennon's "Imagine" to end the show.

This opportunity is open to all MYC singers. We will choose the group from those who express interest and are available.

The Details:
PERFORMANCE: Saturday, October 14. 8pm call; finished around 9:15pm
