What happened at GA that has importance for the work of PPL?
This assembly did not have a mind to make any significant changes in current policy on abortion. While that is disappointing, there were some incremental changes that are noted in our video daily reports and the summary in PPL Monthly. You will find the links to those reports below.
Each night of plenary toward the end of the General Assembly PPL recorded brief video reports of that day's activities. Those reports are posted on our website and you can view them by clicking on the links below.
Following the General Assembly, we published a report in the PPL Monthly June-July, 2010 issue. We encourage you to download, print, and distribute copies to your congregation and members of your presbytery.
Thanks, PPL GA team!
The PPL GA team was busy carrying on a winsome witness at the 219th GA in a variety of ways. Many began their work long before GA, helping with planning the events, preparing resources for commissioners, designing flyers and brochures, packing and shipping or driving materials. At GA they spent long hours in the PPL Exhibit Booth, handing out Daily Delivery with a smile, giving testimony in committees, and providing commissioners with resources and information. Others prepared light lunches and snacks to welcome tired team members and commissioners to the PPL Hospitality Suite. Still others recorded news reports late at night and captured the PPL events. Transporting guest speakers, setting-up for events, ushering or setting out materials--all of this activity was done in a spirit of Christian love and grace with just a touch of fun.
I wanted to share with you, PPL's supporters, what a blessing this team is to PPL as they work quietly in the background making it possible for PPL to carry on a pro-life presence and witness at each GA for 30 years.
I would invite you to plan now to be a part of the PPL team at the 220th GA in 2012 to be held in Pittsburgh, PA. I believe you will be blessed to be a part of it!

Thank you for your faithfulness in giving financial support to PPL. Your gifts have helped us to do all that God put in our hearts for this General Assembly. The results were not all that we had hoped, but we know that God continues to work in ways that we do not see to touch hearts and minds.
The PPL Board will be seeking God's guidance in our October board meeting as we make plans for the coming non-GA year. I believe God has life affirming work for us to do that will equip churches to uphold the lives of the vulnerable. Please pray with us as we plan our next steps and continue to give generously so that we may move forward boldly.
Yours in Christ for Life,
