For: new and returning singers in Choraliers, Con Gioia, Capriccio, Cantilena and Cantabile who need to be fitted for their concert wardrobe (or refitted--please bring your outgrown items with you on Sunday).

If you missed last week's fittings, please make every effort to see us this Sunday! Capriccio, Cantilena and Cantabile please see us before your rehearsal begins--plan ahead and arrive early so you have more than 10 minutes to do your fitting; Choraliers and Con Gioia, please see us right after your rehearsal.

Capriccio singers: if you haven't yet returned your Con Gioia dress from last season, please do so on Sunday.

Boychoir concert wardrobe fittings (including Ragazzi) will take place in October. All wardrobe pieces you have outgrown should be returned to MYC as soon as possible. (This means you should try everything on!)
Delicious Caffeine Courtesy of MYC and Just Coffee
Our partnership with Madison-based, Just Coffee continues this year with monthly deliveries of organic, free-trade coffee, tea and cocoa.

Orders will be collected the first week of each month and delivered (freshly roasted) the following week to the MYC office and available for pick up at rehearsals.

Family fundraising accounts are credited $5/bag of coffee; $2/unit of tea or cocoa.

Order forms and information are linked below and will be available at the rehearsal table this weekend. Current fundraising information is also posted in the Members section of our website.

October orders are due Thursday, October 8 and will be available for pick up Friday, October 16.

Invitation to Sing: Homes for Families Breakfast
MYC has partnered many times in the past with The Road Home (TRH), an amazing local organization that works with homeless families. Several years ago, local singer-songwriter and MYC friend, Stuart Stotts collaborated with MYC and families served by the TRH to write the song "Gonna Make a Home" in honor of TRH. Once again they've invited MYC to perform the song live at their November fundraising event.  We're looking to put a group together of MYC singers of all ages to perform.

The Details:
Wednesday, November 4th: Short rehearsal at the Alliant Energy Center, times TBA, but likely 4:00 or 4:30pm.

Thursday, November 5th: Breakfast performance VERY early in the morning.  Singers arrive at 7:00am and are finished by 7:45 am or so.

Interested?  Email Mike Ross by October 2; he'll respond with confirmation after the deadline. We're looking for singers from ALL MYC choirs.
Free Items
Many items not sold at our camp garage sale will be offered for free this weekend at rehearsals before being donated. Check out the "Free" table to snag some treasures before they are passed along.
Text Alerts
This is another handy way for MYC to send an immediate message to our families. We anticipate using this as an additional way to notify you of weather-related cancelations or last-minute reminders. We will still use our weekly emails for our main communication and all previously used avenues to announce any information we would text to you. In other words, this is in addition to those means and not a replacement.

Your phone number won't be seen by anyone. Remind.com collects the information and creates choir lists for us anonymously. Standard messaging rates apply. Visit www.remind.com for more information.

Vote For Us!
The Best of Madison annual poll of your favorites among favorites is now open and Madison Youth Choirs has AGAIN been nominated in the Youth Performing Arts section under Arts and Entertainment. You may recall, we won the Silver Award last year. Every vote counts!

Good news! Voting no longer requires you to complete 25% of the entire ballot before your vote is counted. (Whew!) You may vote once per day from each of your email addresses. Have fun exploring the many, many categories on the ballot and thanks for your vote!
Science is Fun!
In case you didn't hear, each of our camp sessions ended with our good friend Bassam Shakhashiri (along with his colleagues Rodney Schreiner and Sylvia Speidel) highlighting our big idea for the semester by demonstrating the rewards of active inquiry and thoughtful noticing through their very exciting and equally dramatic table-top experiments.
