Monday, November 7 regular rehearsals at Westgate Studios

Shakespeare in Wisconsin 2016:
First Folio Exhibit and Other Notable Events
From November 3 (Hey! That's today!) through December 11, the Chazen Museum of Art will be exhibiting one of the world's most treasured books: Shakespeare's First Folio, the first collected edition of his plays published in 1623. This is a national traveling exhibition to all 50 states from The Folger Shakespeare Library that will include a multi-panel exhibit exploring the significance of Shakespeare along with additional artifacts from various UW collections. We are so fortunate to have this extraordinary opportunity in Madison!

It's no coincidence that our semester theme is Shakespeare 400, and we are excited to be joining cultural institutions all around our state (and the world!) celebrating the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's legacy. Please visit  Shakespeare in Wisconsin 2016 to explore the many events offered across Wisconsin this fall (including our December 11 concerts!).
Discount Coupons For
A Madison Symphony Christmas

Our friends at the MSO have provided $5 discount coupons toward ticket purchases for this event. Coupons are available at the Rehearsal Table each weekend throughout the fall as well as at the MYC office. One coupon may be used for multiple ticket purchases which means only one coupon is needed per family. As in past years, coupons can only be used in person at the Overture Center Box Office.
Auditions for New Singers
Do you know someone wishing to join MYC for the second half of our season beginning in January? Please tell them about our mid-season auditions on Wednesday, November 16! Auditions are open to singers in 5th - 12th grade and reservations can be made via the link on our Join A Choir page or by clicking below.
Madison Boychoir Festival
January 28, 2017 | West High School, Madison

Savvy boychoir members will have already noticed this event on their season calendar. We are reminding you now so it's on your radar and you can be planning ahead for this important day.

This is a required event as members of Purcell, Britten, Holst and Ragazzi play host to hundreds of boys from all over southern Wisconsin who are excited to spend the morning with us. If you discover you have an immovable, unavoidable conflict, please complete the on-line absence form.

All MYC singers in Purcell, Britten, Holst and Ragazzi are automatically registered and expected to be in attendance.

What You Can Do To Help
As information starts hitting local schools this week, please encourage your friends to register through their music teacher.

If your 2016 festival T-shirt still fits, please wear it to school to help generate interest! (How about wearing it every Monday this fall? That would be so awesome!)

Please let us know your T-shirt size for the 2017 Festival. Click the Google Sheets link below, find your name and record your size. This will save us some guesswork in January!

We'll have a sign up for parent volunteers in early January and look forward to another amazing festival!
