MYC - Capitol Lakes Intergenerational Choir Concert
This Saturday, November 21, eleven members of Cantabile and Ragazzi will join residents of the Capitol Lakes retirement community in a concert celebrating the power of creative expression at every age. The concert will feature works by J.S. Bach, Bob Dylan, and Sir Hubert Parry as well as folk songs from the Shaker and Navajo traditions. What could be better on a chilly Saturday evening?

The Final Episode
We hope you have enjoyed pondering the endless connections between science and music presented by our scientist friends in this video series. Our final episode features Amy Wendt, long-time MYC friend and professor of engineering at UW Madison.

Others in the series:

It's not too late to order poinsettias! We have mini's ($11) and regulars ($14) in white, pink, or red still available as well as a few white doubles ($25.50). Plants are available until our stock is sold. When submitting your order, please coordinate your desired delivery or pick up date with the MYC office so we can be sure there is enough lead time with Felly's to prepare your order. Please contact us with any questions. Thank you!

Fruit Sale Reminders
  • Families earn $10 per box sold toward fundraising goal
  • Orders, along with full payment, are due no later than Monday, November 30

Cantilena Caroling, Saturday, December 5
This is always a great afternoon together!
Please meet in the lobby of Madison Children's Museum (100 N Hamilton) at 11:45pm to begin caroling downtown at noon. Dress warmly! You will be outside spreading cheer for 1-2 hours. Singers are encouraged to bring a few extra dollars for a treat after caroling. (This is a required performance. Please submit an absence form if you have an immovable, unavoidable conflict.)

Auditions for New Singers
Do you know someone wishing to join MYC for the second half of our season beginning in January? Please tell them about our mid-season auditions on Wednesday, January 6! Auditions are open to singers in 5th - 12th grade and reservations can be made via the link on our Join A Choir page.
Spring Introductory Choir
For students ages 7-10, new sessions of introductory choir begin mid-February and registration is now open on our website under the Join A Choir tab. Completing introductory choir is the first step toward joining a year-long choir for singers this age.
Thanksgiving Weekend Rehearsal Reminder
Please be reminded, and make sure your plans have taken into account, that we have regular rehearsals scheduled for Sunday, November 29, the weekend after Thanksgiving.

The MYC office will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, November 25-27.
Wintry Wisconsin
As the inevitable winter weather patterns begin to make their way toward Wisconsin, please be reminded that any MYC rehearsal or performance cancelations due to weather will be communicated to families via email; via the text alert program linked in the Header section above (sign up!); our Facebook page; our website and news outlets. With families spread across southern Wisconsin, we understand that weather and road conditions can be quite different throughout the area and recommend you make the best and safest decision for travel based on the weather conditions where you live. Please remember to always submit an absence form on-line if you are delayed or not able to travel to rehearsal.
