This Weekend With MYC
Saturday, December 12, dress rehearsals at First Congregational Church

    1:00 - 2:30PM Con Gioia
    2:30 - 4:00PM Cantabile
    3:30 - 5:00PM Ragazzi

Did you notice our dress rehearsals are not at Westgate? Please take a moment to click the First Congregational link which is an informative page of directions and parking information for our concert venue. (We will be back at Westgate when rehearsals resume in January.) All singers should report directly to the sanctuary upon arrival. Please plan ahead and arrive a few minutes early so singers are ready to begin rehearsal at the times listed above. Parents are welcome to park and come inside to enjoy rehearsal. Singers should wear their regular school clothes to rehearsal--please do NOT wear concert wardrobe until the concert.

Dress rehearsals are required. If you need to report an absence or late arrival, please complete the on-line appeals form linked in the header section above. The best way to reach us during rehearsals is via the MYC cell phone: 608-770-7464.

Sunday, December 13 is concert day! Please keep reading for all the details you need to know!

Concert Day Sundries
We are so very proud of our singers and are looking forward to a full day of celebrating all they have learned and accomplished this fall at our concerts on Sunday. Thank you, parents, for the myriad ways you support your singer's participation in MYC--especially on a busy concert weekend! All the details you need to know are listed below. Thank you for reading carefully.

Wardrobe
All singers should have MYC concert wardrobe that fits! Thank you for making sure your singer arrives wearing the appropriate attire on concert day:

Girls: black MYC concert dress, black hosiery (no leggings, please), black flat dressy shoes
Boys: khaki pants, white Oxford, blue blazer, MYC boychoir tie (already tied, please!), black belt, black dressy shoes (no athletic shoes, please), black socks
Ragazzi: full tuxedo with bow tie, black dressy shoes, black socks

Arrival and Parking
Please review your parking options for the concert venue: First Congregational Church, 1609 University Avenue.
We recommend dropping your singer first and then finding parking so they are not late for their call time. Singers may enter the front or the back of the church. We will have signs posted and volunteers directing singers to their warm-up space.

Patrons with mobility challenges should plan to be dropped off at the back entrance where the elevator to the sanctuary level (concert hall) is located. There will be a limited number of handicapped spaces available in the small lot adjacent to this back entrance. Please respect the reserved signs and only use these spots if you have the appropriate placard.

Call Times
Singers should be in their warm-up space, dressed for their concert at the times listed below. This means getting dropped off about five minutes before the call time:

1:30PM Concert
Cantilena, Cantabile and Ragazzi call time is 12:45PM. Please report directly to the sanctuary and bring your music.

4:00PM Concert
Purcell, Britten, Holst call time is 3:30PM. Please report to the Fellowship Room downstairs. We will have volunteers and signage showing you the way. You do not need to bring your music. Please arrive with your tie tied!

Ragazzi, please pay attention to Mike's instructions for the 4PM concert. You should be back from your break by 3:30PM.

7:00PM Concert
Choraliers, Con Gioia and Capriccio call time is 6:30PM. Choraliers and Capriccio report to the Chapel; Con Gioia reports to the Fellowship Room downstairs. You do not need to bring your music.

Tickets
The ticket tables will open approximately 40 minutes before each concert. The hall will also open at this time, if possible. Please note, there may be a delay in opening the hall for the 1:30pm concert to accommodate our singers and their warm-up time. Thank you for your patience!

Seating is general admission; please respect the "Reserved" signage for our singers.

Tickets are $10 for adults; $5 for students ages 7-18; children under 7 are free. There is no charge for MYC singers wishing to attend a concert in which they do not sing, e.g., their sibling's concert. Wearing your concert wardrobe is the easiest way for the ushers to know you are an MYC singer. If you wish to stop at the ticket table to pick up a ticket, that works, too.

Families with singers in more than one concert receive complimentary tickets to the second (and third) concert they attend after purchasing tickets to the first. Please let us know at the time you purchase your tickets that you wish to attend a subsequent concert.

When the Concert Ends
Please take note of where your singer is seated in the hall and go to them after the concert. Our youngest singers have been instructed to wait by their seats for their parents. This will hopefully alleviate some of the post-concert chaos and speed up the process of clearing the hall after each concert.

Volunteering
We still have many volunteer slots open especially for the 7PM concert. Volunteers commit to arriving early and providing help to MYC staff and singer ensembles as needed while enjoying complimentary admission to the concert. Please consider lending a hand! Thank you!

Rehearsals Resume in January
With the completion of the fall semester culminating in our concerts this Sunday, there are no more weekly rehearsals until we resume in January. We will send one more Weekly Notes next Thursday, December 17, and then you won't hear from us again until January 7. Our weekly rehearsals begin again on Sunday, January 10 and Monday, January 11.

Fruit Orders Ready for Pick Up This Saturday
As a reminder, if you ordered fruit, please remember to pick it up this Saturday, December 12, at the fruit load out area behind Westgate Mall between 8:30 and 11AM (as early as possible, please).

Volunteers needed! If you have a few spare hours starting at 7:30AM on Saturday, we could use your help organizing the fruit to be picked up and helping load cars, etc. This is a great opportunity for the young and strong to get service hours for graduation or National Honor Society requirements! Please email Lynn if you are available.

December Coffee Orders
December coffee orders will be ready to pick up at the MYC office on Friday, December 11. Sorry, we are not able to bring orders to the concerts this weekend.

Poinsettias
We have mini's ($11) and regulars ($14) in white, pink, or red still available as well as a few white doubles ($25.50). Plants are available until our stock is sold. When submitting your order, please coordinate your desired delivery or pick up date with the MYC office so we can be sure there is enough lead time with Felly's to prepare your order. Please contact us with any questions. Thank you!
