Augustana College Choir: Please Consider Hosting!
There are still a few openings for families wishing to open their homes and host singers for one overnight. Please consider this opportunity to provide hospitality to college kids far from home! Augustana College Choir will be visiting Madison next weekend (February 18-19) and sharing an evening concert at Luther Memorial Church with Cantabile and Ragazzi on Saturday evening.

All MYC families are invited to consider hosting singers--a wonderful way to welcome older singers to your home and support a great choir!

Please complete the Google form in the link below. Hosting will involve attending the Saturday, February 18 concert at 7pm, taking singers home with you following the concert, providing a meal or two, and returning them Sunday morning to Westgate Mall (easy!). This is always a rewarding experience! Thank you for opening your home!

MYC Parent Resource Council
We are looking forward to further engaging our enthusiastic and talented pool of MYC parents in 2017 through a new opportunity for involvement: the MYC Parent Resource Council. Our first meeting will be on Tuesday, February 21, at 6pm at Westgate and all are welcome! Our goal is to improve and enhance everyone's experience with MYC and we're looking forward to the valuable perspective and ideas YOU might bring to such a group. We promise this first meeting will be under one hour and informational only--showing up does not mean you are committing to anything. Please consider attending! Questions? Please ask!

Spring Introductory Choir
Please tell your friends! For students ages 7-10, new sessions of introductory choir begin mid-February and registration is now open on our website under the Join A Choir tab. Our Sunday class for girls is full but we still have seats available in each of the other sessions: Sunday class for boys; Tuesday combined class for girls and boys; and Saturday morning class for girls and boys held in Monona at Lake Edge Lutheran Church. Completing introductory choir is the first step toward joining a year-long choir for singers this age. Thanks for helping us spread the word!

Scotland 2018 Tour: Informational Meeting Scheduled
Purcell, Britten, Holst and Ragazzi families: Please mark your calendars for Thursday, June 8, from 6-7pm for our Scotland 2018 Tour meeting in which we will share all the details we know including estimated cost, commitment timeline, chaperone information, required rehearsal schedule, etc. We will also welcome your questions! The meeting will be held at Covenant Presbyterian Church in the sanctuary. (Don't worry, we will remind you!)

Our final and most important fundraising campaign of the season--It's MYChoir (IMC)-- begins this weekend! IMC is both a fundraising campaign and an opportunity for members and staff to share with the wider community the importance of music education and the benefits it provides. All singers will be receiving information packets at rehearsal and we will be providing weekly reminders and tips for how to participate over the next six weeks. The first step is easy--just read through the packet with your singer(s) and make a plan.

Because tuition alone covers less than 50% of the total cost of each singer's enrollment, fundraising is a necessary part of MYC membership. We count on families to fully participate and meet their $200 family fundraising contribution goal each year to help cover the tuition gap.

This is an organization-wide campaign engaging singers, staff and board members with the aggressive goal of 100% participation and $40,000 raised. We define participation by contacting at least one person outside of your immediate family and sharing your MYC story with them--easy!

Thank you for paying attention to your fundraising progress and participating in this campaign--please watch for the packet to come home with your singer this weekend and keep an eye on this space in the coming weeks for reminders and tips!
