David Johansson is an artist from Seattle, spent formative years in the Yakima Valley. Johansson has a B.A. in art and is inspired by the vitality of the human spirit and the dualism of city and rural life. As a contemporary artist, David has expanded the way in which he presents his art, from original art to prints, t-shirts, greeting cards, homeware, and even phone cases.

Even if I don't have a show coming up, I have a compulsion to make art. I like to "work large". For 22 years I spent time every year in a condo in Hawaii which restricted me to smaller pastels, watercolors, and drawings. Some of the pieces in this show are from that era, beautifully matted and framed by Jackie Prout and most have not been shown. The larger oils are more recent up to last month. -Delma
