Research and Restoration Raffle Ends This Month

Have you sent in your raffle tickets yet?

One of the many water quality sondes HFF has installed in the Henry's Fork.
The Research & Restoration Raffle raises money for projects that improve the wild trout fisheries of the Henry’s Fork. Each year, HFF restores wild trout fisheries habitat, helps make fish passage projects a reality, and ensures there is enough water in the river for young trout during critical winter months.

You can support this work and have a chance to win one of these five prizes by contributing to the raffle. In addition, you can also help contribute to our understanding of river ecology by sponsoring a Water Quality Sonde.

Make sure to get your Research and Restoration Raffle tickets mailed in for a chance to win!

Drawing will be held on Monday, March 28, 2016.

Trapping at the Buffalo River Fish Ladder Has Resumed

Trapping will continue until mid-June to monitor the Rainbow Trout spring spawning.

Trapping at the Buffalo River Fish Ladder resumed on February 22nd and will continue until mid-June to monitor the spring spawning season for Rainbow Trout.

In the first two weeks of sampling, 19 spawners were trapped going upstream, including two individuals we had captured in previous seasons. PIT tag data revealed that one trout was initially trapped almost a year ago to the day while the other was spawning in the Buffalo for at least the second time in its life! For more information on HFF's monitoring efforts at the Buffalo, check out this infographic.

Rainbow Trout Monitoring Continues With Underwater

Camera Installation

The Henry's Fork Foundation, in cooperation with Fall River Rural Electric, has installed an underwater camera in the Chester Dam fish ladder on the Henry's Fork. The camera will serve as a monitoring tool and will remain in the water from March through the end of May to photograph Rainbow Trout as they migrate through the ladder during their spawning season.

HFF's research team hopes to share interesting findings and photos from this effort at the end of the season. Stay tuned!

Vote For Your HFF Board Members

Dear Henry’s Fork Foundation Member,
We are excited that spring is around the corner and hope to see many of you this summer. Your voice is needed as it is time once again for Henry’s Fork Foundation members to vote for their Board of Directors. This year we have three new prospective directors.
The bylaws of the Foundation require that they be affirmed by a vote of the membership and allow for the Board of Directors to consist of up to 21 members. Confirmation of the candidates listed below will bring the board roster to 21 members. A brief introduction of each candidate is provided. Please mark your votes on the survey.
We truly appreciate your continued support of the Henry’s Fork Foundation.

Salt Lake Reception Was A "First Class Event"

Our Salt Lake City event was a great success once again thanks to our dedicated supporting members in the Salt Lake area.

Thank you to everyone who attended and our Salt Lake committee for their willingness and hard work in making this event happen!

We had great turnout with just a little over 260 people in attendance! With a large selection in the silent auction, fun trips to take advantage of in the live auction, and an incredible keynote speaker, Jeff Metcalf, it made for an exciting evening of fun, visiting, and gathering for a great cause.

“The silent and live auction was great. Jeff Metcalf’s presentation was outstanding as well. It was a great event and the efforts of the staff to make it a success was evident!"

“Once a year I get to be with all my favorite people in Salt Lake. It’s a high point in my year!”

“It was a pleasure to talk about the river with other folks that appreciate it as much as I do!”

“It was a first class event!”
Our work would not be possible without the generosity and support of our members. Thank you for another wonderful event!
