A doctor by profession, Deepali Mahanta Kayal started painting at a young age after she won a national level painting competition. She has honed her skills over a period of time at several places: New Delhi, Jaipur, Chennai, and Guwahati in India. She has explored a variety of forms and experimented with different techniques and styles. Her engagement with various morbid conditions of her patients has not dampened her spirits, but rather inspired her to search for hidden beauty, pathos, and meaning in our day-to-day lives. Indian folklore, mythology, and philosophy have been recurring themes in her work. She firmly believes that art is the quest for self-expression and truth. Dr. Kayal currently lives in Madhya Pradesh, India.

Then.......as if that weren't enough! On Saturday, February 11, in addition to the gallery being open from 11 - 4, there will be Valentine card making opportunities from 12 - 2.  Remember the fun glue, glitter, construction paper from 1st grade?  Yep, it will be a blast.  Your Valentine deserves a homemade card.  All ages are welcome.

Then...again a big whoop-de-doo! On Wednesday, February 15, from 10:30 to noon, we're doing another fabulous Creative Coffee!  This time a discussion of the Art of Drawing. You may bring your own drawings or art of your favorite artists.  These gatherings are always so stimulating and fun.  Plan to be there!
