Monday, February 29: regular rehearsals at Westgate Studios

If you need to report an absence or late arrival, please complete the on-line absence form linked in the header section above. As a safety measure, if your singer is not checked in at rehearsal and we have not heard they will be absent, we will call you to verify the absence. New Singer Wardrobe Fittings (Required)
Singers who joined MYC in January will need to be fitted for their concert wardrobe according to the schedule below. Please mark this on your calendar! Fittings take about 15 minutes and we ask that you arrive in plenty of time so that you are not late for rehearsal. These are scheduled at a time when we have access to the wardrobe and when staff are available--thank you for making this a priority in your schedule.

Sunday, March 6, 3:30 - 5:45PM, Westgate Studios (follow the signs)
New singers in Choraliers, Con Gioia, Capriccio and Cantilena. Please plan to come BEFORE your rehearsal begins.

Monday, March 7, 3:00 - 5:00PM, Westgate Studios, Studio 4
New singers in Purcell, Britten and Holst. Please come as early in the afternoon as possible and no later than 4:50PM to allow enough time to be fitted before rehearsal begins.
Carmina Burana Clarification and Invitation for Holst
Our April performances of Carmina Burana with the Madison Symphony Orchestra will include all members of Purcell and Britten but just Holst members who are interested in this opportunity AND who are comfortable singing in their treble range, as the music requires just treble voices.

Holst singers who are comfortable singing in their treble range and can commit to the MSO rehearsal and performance schedule are invited to join Purcell and Britten each Monday (starting this week, 2/29) at 6:45PM for rehearsal (30 minutes earlier than your regular Holst rehearsal). If you are interested and planning to sing, please let us know by simply emailing the MYC office.

We will keep this event on Holst's calendar for now but you should feel free to ignore if your singer is not participating.

Tuition & Fundraising Statements
MYC tuition and fundraising statements were emailed to families last week. Payments for any outstanding tuition and wardrobe fees still due may be dropped in the Big Red Box at rehearsal this weekend or paid with credit card via the link on our Members tab on our website.

Thank you for paying attention to your Family Fundraising Contribution progress. With the It's MYChoir Campaign fully underway, this is your opportunity to meet or exceed your goal of $200 to help offset the full cost of participation in MYC.
Coffee and Tea Orders
Your next ordering deadline is Thursday, March 3. Each unit of coffee results in a $5 credit toward your Family Fundraising Goal; each unit of tea or cocoa results in a $2 credit.

Spring Break Reminder
MYC will not be rehearsing on the following dates:
Sunday, March 20 and 27
Monday, March 21 and 28
Save the Date!
On Wednesday, June 29, MYC returns to the Duck Pond for our annual evening of fun with the Madison Mallards! Ticket information and a sign up to sing the national anthem will be published when we return from spring break. For now, please save this date so you don't miss out on the fun!
Our final and most important fundraising campaign of the season is underway!

Reminders for this week:
When you receive a donation, please make sure the donor has completed a green donor form. You will want to keep this form with the donation until turn-in day on March 13/14.

Don't forget to send a thank you to each of your donors! This is so important! MYC will also provide a thank you along with a receipt but a note from you is the most meaningful.

It's not too late to participate! Read through the information packet, follow the steps and you'll see how easy it is.

Remember: the first measure of participation is sharing your MYC story with at least one person outside of your immediate family. Our goal is 100% participation! Just like in rehearsal, every voice matters and your participation is key.

It's MYChoir (IMC) is both a fundraising campaign and an opportunity for members and staff to share with the wider community the importance of music education and the benefits it provides. Because tuition alone covers less than 50% of the total cost of each singer's enrollment, fundraising is a necessary part of MYC membership. We count on families to fully participate and meet their $200 family fundraising goal each year to help cover the tuition gap. Thank you for participating!
