Valentine's Day Card Sale:  2/13-2/14

We raised $1600 for the Hays County Food Bank last year selling our home-made Valentine's Day cards on the Quad.  Crafting supplies will be available for the first two weeks of February in the Coffee House Extension for you to make a few.  Look for a time to sign up soon to help with sales on the 13th and 14th.

God Goes to the Movies: 2/16, 7:00
We'll watch a movie YOU choose.  Look for the suggested list on a clipboard in the coffeehouse.

Retreat @ UCamp: 2/24-2/26
Texas State owns a beautiful camp along the Blanco River.  Join us for two days of most just goofing around, playing games, having fun, and relaxing, with some worship thrown in.  Cost: $15
March 1st is Ash Wednesday.  Pastor Jaime will be distributing ashes on the quad from 8:45 until 1:45; you're welcome to join him. An Ash Wednesday service will be held in the sanctuary of Christ Chapel at 5:30.  We'll be gathering a special offering during the 40 days of Lent, dedicating it to state or local refugee resettlement efforts.  Over Spring Break, students sill in town or nearby are invited to take part in Mini Service Projects, where we'll spend several hours each day over the break in service to one of the many organizations in town needing volunteers.  On March 3rd, we'll have a Friday Night Game Night and Tamale Tasting Party, because Pastor Jaime is tired of looking at the dozens of tamales sitting in the freezer that his family made over Christmas.  And just a little further ahead, on April 8th: - two words: Snake Farm!
Tax Statements Coming
We are forever grateful for the generous support of so many.  You make this ministry possible.  Because of our donors, we are able to take turns with our friends at UCM in feeding 100 students lunch every week.  We couldn't run our coffee house, where students experience genuine Christian hospitality from the students who make up Christ Chapel. And they would not receive the full measure and blessing of a Word and Sacrament ministry dedicated to their spiritual well-being and growth.  So thank you.
For all who made a financial gift in 2016, a receipt for your tax purposes will be mailed on the week of February 6th.  Gifts to Christ Chapel are considered tax-deductible by the IRS.
