This book was published in 2010 in conjunction with the solo exhibition at the Larson Gallery titled: Charles A. Smith’s Journey: Painting from Within. The book features 31 colorful images of the artist’s work and essays by Delma Tayer – former Dean of Arts and Sciences at Yakima Valley Community College and Cheryl H. Hahn, Larson Gallery Director. Smith’s paintings echo the Yakima Valley’s undulating forms through abstract gestural brush strokes.

Charles A. Smith
See His Last Works
Thursday, April 14, 2016 5:30 - 7:30PM Yakima Valley Museum 2105 Tieton Drive Refreshment will be served
Please join us to experience the last works painted by Charles A. Smith, 1935 - 2016. Charles was an artistic powerhouse in the Yakima Valley who enjoyed a lengthy career as a working artist spanning 1955 until February 2016.
These three paintings were part of an Alumni Exhibition which opened February 18, 2016. The show held at the Sarah Spurgeon Gallery on the campus of Central Washington University, opened the week Charles passed away.
The works have now been returned to Yakima Valley and will be exhibited at Yakima Valley Museum.
Additionally, numerous mementos documenting the career of Smith will be on exhibit.
