How We're Thinking about In-Person Choir
There have been a lot of encouraging developments recently that suggest we may be turning a significant corner in our year-long pandemic odyssey. Our slow return to being in-person with people outside of our pods feels closer every day and something we are all longing for. So, when might this happen for our singers?

The short answer is likely not until the very end of our rehearsal season in May and likely not inside. We don't yet have an indoor space available to us before the end of May that is large enough to be together in a socially distanced and safe way. We are exploring outdoor options, though, and are hopeful we will be able to at least gather together, if not sing together before summer. Masked, of course, and socially distanced--but together.

Once our new building is open this summer, we will have more options! And at that point, we can tell you about all the ways the building is specifically designed to address COVID and all the new ways we will be structuring our schedule to ensure we have clean air, clean surfaces, and healthy singers!

Until then, thank you for continuing to support your singer in their commitment to being in our virtual rehearsal space and the meaningful work they are doing there each week. Our singing community has displayed brilliant resiliency and much determination to support one another--thank you for your part in that!

Looking Ahead to Our New Home

Work has continued on MYC's new home at Madison's Youth Arts Center on the Isthmus even during the pandemic and we're excited to share sneak peeks of our future home with our MYC community each week. Visit www.madisonyoutharts.org to learn more or email us with your questions!

Exterior view from Mifflin Street. North facing windows provide beautiful natural light for the interior and our colorful metal panels provide eye-catching interest for the exterior.

Similar shot at dusk. Notice how the white metal panels are still catching the light.

View of the central rooftop patio from inside the largest rehearsal studio on fourth floor. This is looking west toward the capitol. On the right, the exterior wall of the main theater is accented with metal panels echoing the front of the building. On the left is a glimpse of The Arden and The Lyric apartment buildings.
