San Felipe and Aye Toro both have had CARA Dine Out Events for us for the last several years. Please join us in helping to support our friends during these hard times for restaurants. We would like to thank both locations of San Felipe and Aye Toro from Aug. 10th - Aug. 16th by having our CARA Family either dine out or take your meals home to your family. So please drop on by and enjoy your evening with good friends, great food and of course a few margaritas or take dinner home to your family and enjoy the evening without cooking and cleaning up the kitchen!

How does this support CARA? Well, first thank them for helping us in our time of need. Keeping them strong means they with survive to help us another day! You will be able to make cash donations at each of the locations to support CARA or you can drop off any of the items below that we are in need of especially now.

Message from our President

Friends of CARA,

Since CARA has had to cancel our fundraising events because of social distancing we are trying to come up with new ideas on how you can help support us. Our team that works on our social media accounts have been doing a great job on Facebook and Instagram reaching out for assistance on items we need for the shelter and our animals.

Obi-Wan, one of our rescues has numerous issues and that can cost up to $5,000 if not more. They reached out to our supporters and we got an anonymous donation of $5,000 his cancer surgery. Obi-Wan is going to get the help he needed! Thank you for having such a big heart!

Ellie, sweet girl that our team posted for assistance to cover here heart worm treatment at Carolina Veterinary Hospital in Sanford, had her last HW treatment!!! Thank you Dr. Davis for all you care and love you gave her and many thanks to so many who helped to cover the cost for the treatments!

We had our first CARA Online Auction and we had a lot of fun plus raise over $900! We have another auction coming up Sept. 20th so join us in on the fun!!!

We started to raise money for an industrial washer. After looking into it further we found that we need both a washer and dryer. We also looked at other update and repairs around the shelter that are building up. These projects were funded by out Quarters for CARA Auctions and we had to cancel three of those events this year. So we are combining trying to raise money for an industrial washer and dryer plus money to go towards other building maintenance. Donations can be made on our GoFundMe page, find us on PayPal, on our website or mail donations to CARA, PO Box 2642, Sanford, NC 27331.

Thank you for your support!!!

Thank you,
Steve Fredricks

CARA Felines

Until the middle of August, our adult cat adoption fee has been reduced to $50. We have a great selection of adult cats that are waiting patiently for their forever homes! We have Brenda, Clementine, Daisy, Stirfry, Marigold, Mochi, Gunner, and Rory.

Brenda is a beautiful black and white domestic medium hair mix. She is currently in foster and doing wonderfully. Her foster family suggests she should have a quiet relaxing home where she can patrol in peace and create a forever bond with her forever family.

Clementine is a sweet orange tabby female. She's a super friendly little girl who would love nothing but to have humans to watch over.

Daisy is a one year old calico cat. Daisy loves to be around humans only. She has experience in office work and would be a great executive assistant. She just asks to have her bed in the office so she can be close by to help.

Gunner and Rory came in together. Gunner is the one and half year old handsome orange tabby and Rory is the four year old gorgeous black and white sweetheart. Both of them were surrendered to CARA together and would love to go home together if possible. Gunner can be a little shy at first but gains confidence if his sister is with him. He enjoys back rubs and sitting on a tower of blankets. Rory is a sweet outgoing girl who loves to have attention and be loved on along with her brother.

Marigold is a gorgeous 2-3 year old girl. Her foster family says she is a sweet girl and enjoys to cuddle. She does have some medical needs. They think she may have some allergy issues due to her sneezing all the time. She has some nerve damage in her back leg due to recently giving birth.

Rooney is a handsome young Orange tabby. He was found by a good Samaritan and they brought CARA the sweetest cat in the world. He travels well and loves being held like a baby doll. Rooney would be an amazing companion for a family who is looking for a cat who's job is to cuddle with his humans. Ro

Stirfry is a regal 3-5 year old orange/white tabby. He may look regal but is a softy. He enjoys receiving love from humans and has made friends with the other cats and kittens in the cat room. We also believe he may do well with dogs. All in all, a well rounded cat!

Fill out an application today for our adult cats who are patiently awaiting for their forever family. If you want to know more information about our adult cats, call 919-774-9433 or email cara@cara-nc.org.
