If you need to report an absence or late arrival, please complete the on-line absence form linked in the header section above. As a safety measure, if your singer is not checked in at rehearsal and we have not heard they will be absent, we will call you to verify the absence. The best way to reach us during rehearsals is via the MYC cell phone: 608-770-7464.

It's Turn-In Weekend!
All singers with donations: Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes before your rehearsal to turn in your It's MYChoir packet.

How to Get Organized for Turn-In:
1. Pull out your Tracking Sheet and make sure your name is recorded at the top.
2. List every donation including those made online and through Facebook. (This is especially important if you did a fundraiser on Facebook through your own page and not through MYC's page.)
3. Every donation made by check or cash requires a completed Donor Record Form so we can receipt and record.
4. Make sure your name is also included on each Donor Record Form.
5. Please write a check for the total of all cash donations. (Please do NOT turn in cash.)
6. ALL checks should be made payable to Madison Youth Choirs or MYC.
7. Stack each check with its corresponding Donor Record Form (please do not staple) along with your Tracking Sheet. We want to be able to see very quickly that you have a Donor Record Form for each donation made by check so please keep these two items together.

We will be ready to start collecting packets as early as 3:30pm on Sunday and 5:00pm on Monday. Please turn in your packet before your rehearsal begins. We will end collection on Sunday at 7pm and on Monday at 7:15pm.

What if I'm absent and I've collected donations?
If you want your donations to count toward individual and ensemble awards, please turn them in no later than Monday, April 8.

What if I got a late start and won't have all my donations collected by this weekend?
Turn in what you have collected by Monday, April 8, and it will count toward your ensemble's total and participation goal. Donations turned in after April 8, will be gratefully accepted but won't count toward individual or ensemble totals. (Can we just say, though, that if you got a late start we applaud--with a standing ovation--your decision to participate. Thank you!)

Say thank you! This is so important! MYC is also providing a thank you along with a receipt but a note from you is the most meaningful.

Remember: the first measure of participation is sharing your MYC story with at least one person outside of your immediate family. Our goal is 100% participation!
It's not too late to send a few emails or post an appeal on Facebook (please use the directions provided!)

Please note: This campaign is for Madison Youth Choirs to help cover the gap between what families pay for tuition and what it actually costs to provide programming. We are raising money for MYC's budget, NOT for the building project (even though that's VERY exciting!). The Family Guide has all the information you need to help prompt what to include in your appeal.

Because tuition covers less than 50% of the total cost of participation, fundraising is a necessary part of MYC membership. We count on families to embrace their fundraising contribution goal each year to help cover the tuition gap.

Check out the limited edition Resilience/Legacy 2018-19 season t-shirts for sale! Madison Top has set up an online store for MYC: ordering deadline is Wednesday, March 20. Orders can be picked up directly from MYC in April for no charge (choose "I will pick up my order"), or you can opt to have your order shipped for an additional fee.
 
 
 
 
 
Brat Fest Registration Opens Friday, March 15 at 8am
Another fun fundraising volunteer option is upon us! As of tomorrow (Friday, March 15th) interested members of the Madison Youth Choirs will be able to sign up to volunteer for the world's largest Brat Fest taking place over Memorial Day weekend (but volunteer hours are available the entire week prior to the festival)! The hours worked volunteering at the festival will contribute directly to your MYC fundraising total for next year. (This is a fantastic and fun way to get a jump start on next season's fundraising!) The Brat Fest organizers are utilizing a new sign up program, but the process of signing up is essentially the same with the added ability of being able to select which jobs and shifts you would like to sign up for ahead of time. Still Time to Join MYC Intergenerational Choir
Cantabile and Ragazzi singers: Please express your interest in joining the MYC Intergenerational Choir with Capitol Lakes by using the button below by Friday, March 15. Service hours are available and repertoire spans the ages, from Michael Praetorius to Cole Porter. We hope you can join us!

The Commitment:
Cantabile and Ragazzi singers (and their interested parents!) attend four evening rehearsals (if possible) and a special culminating performance with the Capitol Lakes residents. All rehearsals and the performance are at Capitol Lakes:

Capriccio to Sing at Sister Cities Event in April
We are reminding you about an event that was announced in the fall. Capriccio has been invited to sing for a very special community event. The Sister Cities Collaboration Committee (SCCC) is planning their second annual "Celebrate Madison's Sister Cities" dinner event highlighting all nine of Madison's sister cities on Saturday, April 27 at the MATC-Truax Campus. The Capriccio choir was enthusiastically received at last year's event resulting in an invitation for a return performance.

More details will be coming soon but in the meantime, please make sure you have saved the date: Saturday, April 27, 5:30-7:30 p.m. If you have an unavoidable conflict, thank you for letting us know via the online absence form. We are looking forward to Capriccio representing Madison Youth Choirs at this significant shindig in April!
 
 
 
 
 
Holst Invited to Perform at Madison Gives
Each year, the Madison Community Foundation holds an event called Madison Gives celebrating the impact of philanthropy in our community. They've asked us to perform this year!

Details are still TBD, but please reserve Tuesday, May 21, for this performance. Likely late afternoon (4:30 or 5pm) rehearsal, followed by an early evening performance at Monona Terrace. We'll be in contact as details develop. (This event has been added to the Holst calendar.)

Please let us know ASAP if your singer has an immovable, unavoidable conflict.

March orders will be ready for pick up at rehearsals this weekend. April orders (our final ordering opportunity for the season) will be due Monday, April 8. Families receive $5/unit sold toward their fundraising contribution goal.
