If you need to report an absence or late arrival, please complete the on-line absence form linked in the header section above. As a safety measure, if your singer is not checked in at rehearsal and we have not heard they will be absent, we will call you to verify the absence. Reserving Your Seat for Next Season:
Still Time to Return Your Intention Form & Deposit
Seat reservations for next season are made by returning the intention form along with a $50 tuition deposit to MYC. Deposits are fully refundable through July 12. Thank you for carefully reading through the information provided with your singer's intention form and contacting us with any questions.
     
     
     
     
     
    Congratulations to Our Mahler 8 Chorus
    We are looking forward to this weekend's performance of Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 8 with the Madison Symphony Orchestra at Overture Center. Our Mahler 8 Chorus which includes 55 treble singers from every ensemble (except Ragazzi) has been working hard all semester for this collaboration which involves hundreds of singers and the largest orchestra ever assembled on the Overture stage. Tickets are still available and the performances are:

    Friday, May 3 at 7:30PM
    Saturday, May 4 at 8:00PM

      Spring Outreach Tours
      It's been an amazing week of sharing music across Dane County! Britten is touring today (Thursday, May 2); and Capriccio tours tomorrow, Friday, May 3.

      What to Wear:
      Red MYC polo with jeans, slacks, or a skirt. (No rips, tears, or stains, please.)

        Legacy Choirs
        Our Legacy choir for women will rehearse this Sunday, May 5:

        5:00-5:30pm with Choraliers and Con Gioia
        and/or (if you have a singer in both rehearsals, feel free to choose or come to both)
        7:30-8:00pm with Capriccio*, Cantilena, and Cantabile

        Our Legacy choir for men will have its final rehearsal this Monday, May 6, from 6:45-7:15pm.

          Calendar
          Please review your singer's calendar so you're aware of the required dress rehearsal details and call times at the Capitol Theater that weekend. We'll be providing more detailed instructions in next week's notes related to arrival, parking and call times.

          Concert Wardrobe
          Thank you for double-checking that your singer's concert wardrobe still fits. Trying on wardrobe this week and letting Ian know of any issues allows us enough time to make adjustments, if necessary.

          Ticket Information
          Concert tickets are available through the Overture Center Box Office, 201 State Street, at any time in advance of our concert weekend or on concert day. The most economical way to purchase tickets is in person to avoid online surcharges.

          Tickets are $15/adults and $7.50/students. Children under 7 are free but a ticket is still required (Please visit the Overture Center Box Office). Seating is General Admission.

          Attending more than one concert? Two or three concerts may be purchased for the same inclusive price ($15/adult and $7.50/student) but must be purchased in person at the Box Office. This discount is NOT available online.

          IMPORTANT: MYC singers wishing to attend a concert in which they do NOT sing, may do so free of charge but we need to know IN ADVANCE. Singers: please make your complimentary ticket request via the Google form linked below. The final date to request your complimentary ticket is Wednesday, May 8. Your ticket will be at the Overture Center Box Office will-call window the day of the concert.
             
             
             
             
             
            Final Tuition and Fundraising Statements
            Tuition statements will be emailed to families this week who have a tuition balance due or an update to their fundraising. Thank you in advance for taking care of your account before the end of our season. As a reminder, payments may be placed inside the Big Red Box at rehearsal, dropped off at the office, mailed, or made via the payment form on our Members page.
             
             
             
             
             
            Brat Fest Registration
            Another fun fundraising volunteer option is upon us! interested members of the Madison Youth Choirs are invited to sign up to volunteer for the world's largest Brat Fest taking place over Memorial Day weekend (volunteer hours are available the entire week prior to the festival)! The hours worked volunteering at the festival contribute directly to your MYC fundraising total for next year. (This is a fantastic and fun way to get a jump start on next season's fundraising!)
