Guess who's coming to town?
Kinder Morgan asks to be "standing item" on Sandisfield Conservation Commission meeting agenda

—SANDISFIELD – Kinder Morgan is now pushing for a repeal of the stay on tree cutting for the CT Expansion pipeline in Otis State Forest until end of July that came with the Berkshire Superior Court case. They want those trees cleared yesterday.

They want to be a “standing item” on the agenda at the Conservation Commission, and intend to be there for each one for the next eight months. Townspeople are unsure if they’ve hired an environmental monitor and have done other items they’ve said they would in the Order of Conditions from MA DEP.

We want to have a show of opposition.
Please come to the meeting and be counted! Bring a sign, or wear a pipeline opposition shirt. Let them see there is opposition to the taking of Otis State Forest for a pipeline. Sandisfield Town Hall

Can't get enough of Sandisfield?
Come back on Saturday for some fun!
CT Expansion - Spectacle Pond Paddle for a Purpose, June 25
A critical-mass paddle of kayakers, canoeists, and stand up paddlers on Lower Spectacle Pond in Otis State Forest in Sandisfield, where the CT Expansion pipeline project is slated to go an area protected by our State Constitution.

This is to raise awareness of what is at stake if this project goes through and to raise funds for the legal fight. This project is a high stakes issue, even though small. Kinder Morgan wants to use Federal Law to preempt our State Constitution in what could be a precedent setting action.

If donating isn’t in your budget, please, just show up. Let’s make this issue visible and show we care! You don't need to paddle to attend, either!

Ask President Obama to veto the "Energy Policy 'Modernization' Act" when it comes to his desk
And please share the petition - we want this to go nationwide

The Senate recently passed the "Energy Policy 'Modernization' Act” — a bill that would keep us addicted to fossil fuels — so it's up to President Obama to stop a bad bill like this from becoming law.

While virtually ignoring renewables like wind and solar, and gutting some useful energy efficiency programs, the bill expedites approval for liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facilities to ship more fracked gas abroad.

With a mandate to expedite FERC pipeline approval in 90 days, and LNG facility approval in only 45, this bill would increase fracked gas exports, putting more communities in harm's way. We are also running out of time to act to limit the impacts of climate change. Fracked gas is yet another fossil fuel keeping us on a path toward even more dramatic climate change.

Any effort to modernize energy in the U.S. should decrease our reliance on fossil fuels and increase our use of truly clean renewables like wind and solar.
Sign below to tell President Obama to veto the dirty energy bill!

Defeating the Pipelines!
Thanks to Your Help!

We'll still be here, fighting the CT Expansion pipeline and aiding other communities fighting AIM, Access Northeast, Constitution and others, and keeping an eye out for possible resurrection of NED or another restructured project. We'll also still be working with PLAN-NE, Mass Power Forward and other organizations to help ensure bold steps away from fossil fuel dependency continue and grow!
