Hillsdale Manufacturing Park: A Leader in Connection, Expansion and Business Attraction
Hillsdale is now one of the best connected areas in the country since it received high speed optic fiber through the REACH-3MC project, with 10 Gbps service south to Ohio, east and west through southern Michigan, and 40 Gbps north to Lansing. Along with basic City services of water, sewer, electricity, and 24 hour police protection, Hillsdale can provide gigabit speed internet service to businesses.
Also new, Hillsdale Terminal has just expanded. Hillsdale Terminal has been manufacturing electrical connectors called terminals, since 1976. Today Hillsdale Terminal owns a 35,000 manufacturing facility on Moore Road and a 24,000 square foot office building with shipping/receiving on Industrial Drive.
The addition of the Industrial Drive facility has helped the business tremendously. Since moving in May of 2015, Hillsdale Terminal is already seeing the need for future expansion due to the capabilities accrued by having more space.
Another new-comer to the Hillsdale Manufacturing Park is Metal Technologies, Inc. which has purchased long-time Hillsdale business, Precision Gage, LLC. Metal Technologies specializes in metal casting and other value added operations, producing high quality gray and ductile iron castings, aluminum castings, and machined components. Precision Gage specializes in precision machined components for several different industries as well as tooling and gaging for any application.
Currently Precision Gage is launching six new flexible CNC manufacturing cells which will produce a variety of heavy truck transmission components. All cells will be running production volumes by the Fall of 2016 adding 12 new production operator positions, a 20% increase to the current staffing level. The addition of these new products to Precision Gage further diversifies their customer and product mixes.
Situated adjacent to state highway M-99, Hillsdale’s 400 acre Manufacturing and Technology Park provides light industrial, manufacturing, and technology related businesses the space and services they need to succeed.
