Hi Mahler Families--
It's almost here--our incredible, exciting, amazing week! Below you will find a ton of important information. Thanks for reading to the end and letting us know if you have any questions.
All of the information listed below was included in the Mahler 8 Primer and distributed at rehearsal last Tuesday evening:
Singers also received their backstage passes on Tuesday. If you volunteered to help backstage, MYC staff will have a backstage pass for you when you arrive at security this week.
PICK UP/DROP OFF
All singers enter via the Overture Hall security entrance on N. Henry Street, across from the Federal courthouse. This is the same entrance many singers know from MSO Christmas concerts. They will need to bring (and show) their backstage pass; if they forget or misplace them, MYC staff will be in the security entrance to assist. No adults except those signed up to chaperone backstage are allowed past security.
This procedure will be the same every night--for rehearsals and performances.
The call times listed below mean please be in the rehearsal room, ready to go at that time. Allow extra time for parking (if desired) or dealing with downtown traffic. Each rehearsal evening follows the same schedule, starting at 6:15 and ending at 10pm. Each performance evening is just two hours in duration but each call time is different:
Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday 6:15-10:00pm
Friday: Call time is 7:00pm | Pick up is 9:00pm (7:30pm concert)
Saturday: Call time is 7:30pm | Pick up is 9:30pm (8:00pm concert)
Sunday: Call time is 2:00pm | Pick up is 4:00pm (2:30pm concert)
WHAT TO WEAR
Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday: Red MYC polos and jeans/pants
Friday/Saturday/Sunday: Your full, formal MYC concert wardrobe
WHAT TO BRING
Singers should bring just their Mahler music, a pencil, and a water bottle. Please leave backpacks, jackets, etc., in the car or with parents. Nothing extra can be brought onstage and having fewer items brought inside means a more efficient departure at the end of the evening.
Please help singers eat a healthy meal before rehearsals--these are long evenings and we want everyone feeling well for the duration. Thanks for all your support!
