Your congregation’s plan for Mission Support in 2016
Mission Support is the portion of regular offerings that your congregation shares for synodical and churchwide ministries for God’s mission beyond the local congregation. Together we provide support for congregations and rostered leaders in time of transition; for our seminaries, campus ministry, and Lutheran Services in Iowa.

Your Mission Support intent lets us move forward with confidence knowing that we are able to honor the commitments that have been made on behalf of your congregation. As you finalize your Mission Support commitment for 2016, please remember to share that information with the Synod Center for Ministry.

Note: In past years, we have been able to gather this information from the congregation’s annual report. You may have noticed this information is not included in the 2015 report. Your Mission Support intent lets us move forward with confidence knowing that we are able to honor the commitments that have been made on behalf of your congregation. To submit your Mission Support plan for 2016 click here or e-mail Kathy Smith,

Take Action on the Water Contamination Crisis in Flint, MI
Many concerned Lutherans around the country are praying for the city and asking what else they can do to help the people of Flint.  ELCA Advocacy and the Southeastern Michigan Synod are collaborating to invite you to advocate for an amendment to a bipartisan energy bill that would increase immediate relief and work towards long-term solutions for Flint. As church together, we will continue to advocate to for clean water for all God’s children, particularly in impoverished places or communities of color, such as Flint.

We are asking Congress to support robust funding in this year's appropriations bill for nutrition and health for mothers, newborns, and young children.
