Dreams Can Come True

“When will you be filming in San Francisco?” I asked the woman on the other end of the phone.

“Oh, we’re not coming to San Francisco,” she said, “you’re going to New York State, to Niagara Falls.”

I got into this business just to do voiceover work, but I was encouraged to expand my thinking. So I took a handful of on-camera classes at Voice One. I’m pleased I did. Fast forward a year or so and I was asked to audition for an on-camera travel program. Since then, I’ve been fortunate enough to travel throughout the US making videos for the official US tourism website, and things are still going strong.

I’ve just returned from Pennsylvania and soon head to South Dakota to see Mount Rushmore. I’ve also been to Tennessee, Mississippi, Colorado, New York (twice), Michigan, and Pennsylvania. I’m having a blast helping the US promote itself to the UK market. I’ve stroked the head of the largest alligator in captivity, ridden horses, kayaked, zip-lined, hiked, and drunk my way around numerous vineyards and craft breweries (all in the name of art, you understand), and all the while Elaine and the Voice One team have cheered me on from the sidelines.

How did this all start? Roll back to February 2009, when I signed up for the Introduction to Voiceover class at Voice One. Six years later, I’m able to say that I love what I do. I keep taking classes whenever time allows - keeping my skills sharp is important to me. Who knows what opportunities will knock in the future.

Being on the road can be tough at times, but I work with some amazing people, and who knows where it’ll lead to tomorrow? For further info, visit www.DiscoverAmerica.com
