CITY UPDATES
 
 
 
 
♦ ​Youth ambassadors will travel to Reggio Emilia, Italy in March.
♦ ​The Reggio Committee is planning 2 exchanges that will revolve around Reggio's Tricolore Sports Games in August and September of 2015. The first exchange will be for student athletes to compete in the games and the second exchange will be for adults to attend the closing ceremony and travel to Milan for the World Expo. ♦ The Trier committee is working with Alcon-Novartis on securing a logistics engineering internship for a university student from Trier. If he is accepted as an intern, he will work with Alcon’s supply chain and will be here from April-June. Host families are needed so please let us know if you are interested.
 
 
 
♦ Youth ambassadors are preparing for their summer exchanges to Japan.
The committee hosted another fun and successful Oshogatsu celebration January 27.  Did you know this is the Year of the Sheep?
 
 
 
Sister Cities will send Youth Ambassadors to Bandung, Indonesia this June for the first time in many years.  While there, the students will explore this unique culture through educational activities and home hosting.
 
 
 
♦ Youth ambassadors will travel to Budapest, Hungary in March.
 
 
 
♦ Mayor Hilda Gonzalez has resigned as mayor of Toluca in order to run for an elective federal post. Mr. Braulio Antonio Álvarez Jasso, former Secretary General of the Honorable Toluca Council will be interim mayor until the State Congress appoints a new mayor.
 
 
 
♦ An adult exchange to Swaziland and South Africa, celebrating the 10 year anniversary of our sister city partnership with Mbabane, is slated for May of 2015. Click here to reserve your spot.
♦ If you are interested in joining the group to Swaziland and South Africa, the Mbabane committee invites you to a wine tasting and appetizer pairing featuring wines from South Africa February 19.  If you are just interested in the marvelous wines of the region, join the group and be treated to a fun evening.​ Click here to purchase tickets.
 
 
 
♦ The Guiyang group will be planning the 5th anniversary exchange to Guiyang in 2016.  If interested in joining the group or planning the tour, contact Beth Weibel at 817-632-7105.
 
 
 
Youth ambassadors will attend a final orientation in March to prepare for their spring exchanges. ​
Thank you to all the volunteers who helped man the photo booth for pictures with Santa in Sundance Square. Our volunteers raised over $37,000 which will help fund Sister Cities youth scholarships and programs.​
