Psalm 72 gives us a glimpse into what we are to desire in a godly leader:
  • Justice – in particular defense of the poor
  • Righteousness – pity and deliverance to the children of the needy
  • Prosperity – a fruitful & blessed people, abundance
  • Peace – the crushing of the oppressor, flourishing of the righteous
  • Growth – expansion of territory and tribute
  • Respect for life - redeems vulnerable lives from oppression and violence, deems them "precious"

In our reality we find few if any leaders rise to those standards.

Review by Amy Scherschligt
The new award-winning film “Hush” takes a close look at the highly disputed and politicized information surrounding abortion’s long-term health effects on women. The result is a documentary that is neither pro-choice nor pro-life; it is pro-information.

Facts about connections between abortion and breast cancer, abortion and premature birth, and abortion and psychological damage, are conveyed through the investigations of the talented film maker Punam Kumar Gill. She narrates the film as she seeks the truth about a “hushed” topic that no one wants to talk about it. The heart-rending story of her own reproductive life is artfully included. The viewer is provided with much evidence, testimony, and biologically accurate animations, making Hush a must-have for every pro-life reference library.

St Teresa's connection to PPL
While Presbyterians recognize all who have believed in Jesus Christ as "saints" and members of "a royal priesthood" we can think of no one more deserving of designation as a saint than Mother Teresa. She lived an exemplary life of service to others in humble service to her Lord, Jesus Christ. Presbyterians Pro-Life was honored that she was willing to travel to speak at our event at the Presbyterian Church (USA) General Assembly held in St. Louis, Missouri in 1988. Her unforgettable message at that event is captured in this video excerpt. As you can see in the video, the room was packed and commissioners were influenced to act and initiate a new 3 year study on abortion.
