Trinity in Sibley is cleaning up, and have boxes of used LBW’s—298 used, to be exact—26 boxes of 10’s and another 38 hardly used (balcony books), organ book and large altar book.  Also: 120 WOV (With One Voice) and 22 or so large print, plus the accompaniment.  If your congregation or you know of a congregation that can use these please contact Pastor Barb Kopperud!

World Week of Peace & International Day of Prayer for Peace
Despite 50 years of occupation and despair, hope prevails for a just peace in Palestine and Israel. Throughout the World Week of Peace, 17 – 24 September, Christians around the globe are called to unite in peaceful actions to create a common international public witness. During the same week, on Thursday, 21 September, the International Day of Prayer for Peace is held. More info here!
Hay Western Iowa, We Can Help!!

Along with donations of large square or round hay bales, we are currently seeking volunteer drivers and trucks to move the hay, and we are seeking financial donations to help with the cost of transportation.  You can donate now online HERE.

Fall Theological Conference

The 2017 Tri-Synodical Fall Conference for rostered leaders will be held at the Sheraton, West Des Moines from September 24-26, 2017.  Speakers Anna Madsen and Bishop Guy Erwin will address the:  the theme “The Reformation:  What’s at Stake?  Then and Now.”  Bishop Elizabeth Eaton will also be in attendance for a presentation and to preach and preside at the Monday evening communion service.  Registration and more information here!!

Celebrating the Reformation

Ames area Lutheran churches of all synods have organized a program to provide an opportunity for you to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. 

The celebration will be held
When: 2 pm on Sunday, October 15
Where: C.Y. Stephens Auditorium on the campus of Iowa State University. 

The program will feature Pati Kachel of The Parable Fund in Minnesota, Rev. Don Rothweiler, retired Lutheran pastor in Ankeny, Dr. Paul Maier, professor emeritus of ancient history and former campus pastor at Western Michigan University, and Simon Estes,  world-renowned opera singer. Local choirs will participate as well.  Come and join in the celebration of the Reformation that occurred 500 years ago!

Fort Dodge Forums Fall/Early Winter Schedule Set
The fun begins at 9:30 am at Grace Lutheran Church, Fort Dodge Iowa.  Forums begin at 9:30 am with coffee and fellowship. The Program runs from 10 until noon.  A catered meal (about $8) is available to conclude the event at noon. The schedule can be found here on the left hand side of the page.

Call for singers: Bethany Lutheran Church of Spencer is marking the 500th anniversary of the Reformation with The Next 500: A Festival of New Sacred Music on Sunday, October 29th at 4pm. Singers are invited to participate in a community choir that will rehearse on Oct. 22nd and 29th at2:00 p.m. in Bethany’s  sanctuary. The concert is free and open to all. Foundations of Faith Community Nursing Course
This Parish Nursing course is being offered February 5th - March 26th, 2018 on-line, followed by two days on-site, March 22-23
