Announcing Our New (Temporary) Home(s)!
This old mall has served us well but the BIG moment has come to say goodbye and make our move to our new temporary home(s). The BEST news is that our new spaces are temporary--in spring 2021 we will be relocating permanently to our amazing home at the Madison Youth Arts Center. We can hardly wait!

But in the meantime...for the next 18 months...until April, 2021....

The Details You've All Been Waiting For | New Rehearsal Location
Our time at Westgate will end after our concerts in December. When we begin rehearsals again in January 2020, we will be meeting in the beautiful spaces provided by Christ Presbyterian Church at 944 E Gorham Street on the Isthmus. This location has wonderful rehearsal spaces, lovely bonus areas for parents to linger in comfort--something we have definitely missed at Westgate--and ample parking with a safe, well-lit entrance! We're most excited about the opportunity to begin rehearsing NOW within four blocks of where we'll eventually be when we move into the new Madison Youth Arts Center. We're looking forward to getting to know our new neighborhood while working out transportation and rehearsal kinks well-ahead of our move-in date in 2021. As a bonus, we can take weekly drives past the building site to see the progress!

We understand this will be a big change for our MYC community as we have rehearsed on the West Side of Madison for years. Our new location will be helpful to many families who have battled the Beltline for years but for others, it will be a new adventure in navigational puzzles determining the best route. For now, we are keeping our rehearsal schedule exactly the same for Sundays and Mondays. We anticipate everyone will likely need to adjust their routines a bit to account for this new destination. We're particularly cognizant of the 5:30pm start time for Purcell and Britten on Monday nights and know there will be an adjustment period for everyone. Thanks in advance for being patient through these adjustments and thanks for embracing this new chapter for the MYC community!

New Office Location, too!
The MYC office will be moving to 10 West Mifflin Street, Suite 400--right on the Capitol Square and just a few blocks from Christ Presbyterian. When Westgate gave us notice last month, our general contractor CG Schmidt generously invited us to live with them until our building is built and so, we will be joining them in their downtown office suite in mid-December. We are incredibly grateful for their hospitality! Our phone numbers will remain the same but we will be updating our mailing addresses (and the USPS will forward as well.)

Many Things To Do Between Now and Mid-December!
We are working through the myriad details of launching a move including making decisions on items we no longer need. We'll be compiling a list and inviting you to snag items you'd like to claim. Please watch this space for more information on that in next week's notes!

Our target move date is December 17 or 18. There will be opportunities to help us pack and prep--watch this space for those details and THANKS in advance for cheering us on during this wonderful time of transition!
