January 1, 2016
Greetings,

“When the power of love is greater than the love of power, the world will know peace.” This is a quote I came upon this am as I was perusing Facebook. I could feel this instantly touch my heart with a surge of truth.

With the New Year upon us, many are making commitments on how to better our lives or make a deeper positive impact in relationships. This quote reminds me of how it starts with us first and children second. We are in choice about how we see and be with others in ANY moment because our response has an impact on how others will respond. Love is a choice, always!

When it comes to discipline, it is imperative think about the impact our responses have on our children. So the next time you find yourself ready to ream your child out for something YOU think is wrong, take a deep breath and choose with love rather than control.
Instead of yelling, “how can you be so selfish?” to a child who whines about not getting the hover board they wanted for the holidays, say, “You seem really disappointed. You were hoping to ride with some of your friends. It’s hard to wait until they are safe enough to purchase.”

If this is hard for you, think of joining some of the Conscious Discipline® events scheduled in the near future. Make a commitment to be at peace with yourself and the impact you have on others!

Have a Conscious Happy New Year!
wishing you all well!

~Ginny~
