♦ The Reggio Committee is planning an exchange for adults to attend the closing ceremony of the Tricolore Sports Games and travel to Milan for the World Expo Aug. 28 - Sept. 7. Click here to sign up.
♦ The Reggio Committee conducted a successful food and wine night last month, highlighting the cuisine of the Emilia-Romagna region. Thank you, Mary Palko, for hosting the group.

♦ Mayor Wolfram Leibe took office April 1.

♦ Youth ambassadors are preparing for their summer exchanges to Japan. Thank you so much to the Fort Worth Japanese Society for hosting our youth ambassadors for an afternoon of Japanese culture and cuisine and thank you again to Harvey Yamagata and his volunteers for preparing our students and delegation leaders.

♦ In April, Bandung played host to an Asian-African Carnival that coincided with the 60th commemoration of the Asian-African conference. Our volunteer, William Churchill, represented Fort Worth Sister Cities.
Sister Cities will send Youth Ambassadors to Bandung, Indonesia in June for the first time in many years.  While there, the students will explore this unique culture through educational activities and home hosting.

♦ We are currently recruiting students from Budapest to attend ILA this summer.
♦ Stay tuned for details on a  Budapest Committee event involving classical Hungarian music and Dr. Tamas Ungar.

♦ Mayor Hilda Gonzalez has resigned as mayor of Toluca in order to run for a federal post. Mr. Braulio Antonio Álvarez Jasso, former Secretary General of the Toluca Council will serve as interim mayor until the State Congress appoints a new mayor.

The Black Ecumenical Leadership Alliance (BELA) is sponsoring four students from Mbabane to come to Fort Worth for ILA again. Mbabane will send a total of 8 students, 1 teacher, and 1 university student to Fort Worth this July 18-August 2.
♦ Sister Cities is also sponsoring its first BELA church student, who attends Mount Olive Baptist Church, to attend ILA. He received a full scholarship made possible by the Mbabane committee's fundraiser at the Gospel Choir event held in 2014.

♦ The Guiyang group will be planning the 5th anniversary exchange to Guiyang in 2016.  If interested in joining the group or planning the tour, contact Beth Weibel at 817-632-7105.
