Text Alerts from MYC
Text alerts are a handy way to receive short messages from us related to your singer's rehearsal schedule. We include text alerts in the collection of ways we communicate with you if there is a cancellation or rehearsal time change due to weather or other unavoidable circumstances. We use Remind.com and signing up is voluntary.

Each ensemble has their own code.

To opt in, text to the number 81010 the code assigned to your singer's ensemble preceded by the "@" sign. For example, if you are a Choraliers parent the text of your message to 81010 would be @mycch.

Choraliers: @mycch
Con Gioia: @myccg
Capriccio: @myccp
Cantilena: @myccl
Cantabile: @myccb
Purcell: @mycpc
Britten: @mycbr
Holst: @mycholst
Ragazzi: @mycrz

To sign up via a web browser on your phone, please follow the instructions linked here.

Please note: if you signed up last year, you will need to sign up again this year as ensembles have changed for most singers and we empty each ensemble at the start of the year to ensure no one is receiving the wrong information.

Tallinn Boys Choir Visit in Early January, 2020
MYC will be hosting the acclaimed Tallinn Boys Choir (Estonia) on Sunday, January 5 through Tuesday morning, January 7, with a shared concert on Monday evening with Purcell, Britten, and Holst. We are looking forward to this once-in-a-lifetime collaboration (and making new friends)!

Please consider hosting!

Hosts provide a place to sleep for two nights, dinner on Sunday, breakfast on Monday and Tuesday morning, and transportation between our designated meeting spot (TBD) and your home (see bottom for draft schedule). You are not responsible for entertaining your guests on Monday during the day--just delivering them to the designated meeting spot in the morning so they can begin their day of workshops and sight-seeing. We all come back together on Monday afternoon for a joint rehearsal, dinner, and shared concert with Purcell, Britten, and Holst. Tuesday morning they depart for their next destination with fond memories of their time in Madison (thanks to you!).

Hosting is open to the entire MYC community but we hope the boychoir families are especially interested since there will be a shared concert!

Questions? Please ask!

Draft Schedule
Sunday, January 5: Meet choir at designated meeting spot (TBD), bring your guests back to your home or go out for dinner. Overnight with host families.
Monday, January 6: After breakfast, bring your guests to designated meeting spot (TBD). Attend evening concert if possible. Bring guests back to your house following the concert.
Tuesday, January 7: After breakfast, bring your guests to designated meeting spot (TBD).

Poinsettia Sale
We have many businesses hoping to be contacted by MYC so they can place their annual poinsettia order.  This is the week to contact businesses! Please email Ian to get started.

Plants are available until our stock is sold out but our initial deadline for submitting orders initial orders is November 15 so Felly's has time to prepare the orders for our first set of delivery/pick up dates the week before and after Thanksgiving.

There are two ways to sell: gather individual orders from family, neighbors, coworkers, etc., and/or approach businesses interested in decorating for the holidays or providing gifts to their clients. Restaurants, coffee shops, churches, real estate offices, hair salons, hotels, car dealerships, banks, etc. are all good places to start. Please read through the information sheet before you begin selling and please contact the MYC office with any questions you may have.
