We are excited to be approaching the soft re-opening of our new gallery and feature two art shows at one time!
Víctor Ospina February 19 - May 30
"Abstraction, geometric figures, experimentation, simplicity, creation, aesthetics, and art inspires me. Because with art I can create, I can solve situations intelligently and I can admire the beauty of the universe; With art, I can be the inspiration for others. My artwork was born from the interest of involving different study subjects from the social sciences such as sociology, history, anthropology, with the plastic arts. Consequently, social issues such as violence in Colombia, Post-truth, the voices of the silenced and victims of war as the central axis of my work that invites the viewer to reflect on our society, to be inspired and to be part of the change for a better country."

Join us in celebrating local art treasure, former Larson Gallery and Gallery One Director, Carol Hassen. Her impact on this community has been profound, and we are honored to share a survey of her work that spans five decades. Carol Hassen’s art is about memory, travel, emotions and responses. The locations depicted in her works are not generally site-specific, but rather what she remembers seeing along with her emotional response to them. For Carol, memory is not the factual representation of information that we often believe it to be, but is based on personal perceptions, in particular visual memory. Traveling has always been a part of her life having attended 13 schools in 12 years. Her parents took the family for drives to “see things” for entertainment. Exploring new territories has been a source of endless fascination and fun throughout her life. In her work, Carol has used color to express emotion and to create moods, which often lean toward the magical. Her hope was that her paintings would trigger an emotional response for each viewer that is independent of her own memory.
