Cynthia Matossian, MD, FACS presented as faculty at the MillennialEYELive 2015 Meeting in Hollywood, CA, September 25-27.
This was a dynamic, technology-driven symposium featuring nationally-recognized ophthalmic leaders.

Dr. Matossian presented a lecture entitled "Maintaining Pupil Size Without Burdening the Healthcare System," and another entitled "Tracking Surgical Outcomes, Conversion
Rates, and More," addressing eye care professionals from across the nation.

Twice a year, Cynthia Matossian, MD, FACS of Matossian Eye Associates participates as a featured faculty member at the weekend-long surgical mentor resident program sponsored by Bausch + Lomb  for surgical residents and their attendings from academic programs all over the U.S. This event is designed to teach cataract surgery techniques through hands-on experience in a wet lab setting in Tampa, Florida. In August, Sebastian Lesniak, MDMatossian Eye Associates' cornea specialist, joined Dr. Matossian.

In the sixth installment of the series, Dr. Matossian discusses incorporating allergy testing into an ophthalmology practice.

In the seventh installment, she discusses retina gene testing, a genetic test that is able to predict the patient's lifetime risk of developing macular degeneration within 5, 7 or 10 years.

​In the eighth installment, she discusses how selling oral omega-3 supplements in an ophthalmology practice can help bridge the reimbursement gap.

In the ninth installment, she discusses three lid scrubs that she recommends to her patients with blepharitis.

Comparison of actual and simulated Toric IOL calculations with different kerotometric measurement devices (i-Optics). We are actively enrolling patients in this study.

♦ Investigation of trabecular micro-bypass stent system in conjunction with Cataract Surgery (Glaukos). We are actively enrolling patients in this study.

Tri-Moxi-Vanc (Imprimis Pharmaceuticals) Injection Post-Cataract Surgery and its Effect on Corneal Endothelial Cells. We are actively enrolling patients in this study.

Evaluation of Ocular Events post Sealing Corneal Incisions with ReSure® Sealant. We are actively enrolling patients in this study.

The Influence of PRN Omega-3 Nutritional Supplement on Visual Acuity Outcomes in Cases Undergoing Cataract Surgery. We have enrolled patients in this study and are actively looking for additional candidates.

Tecnis Toric (Abbott Medical Optics) 1-Piece IOL Registry. We have reached our enrollment goal.

Phase 3 randomized multicenter study to evaluate safety of IBI-10090 for treatment of inflammation associated with cataract surgery (ICON Bioscience). We are about to begin this study.

♦ Cassini repeatability of measurement of corneal astigmatism (i-Optics). We are in the data collection phase.

♦ Cassini measurement and correction of low cylinder (i-Optics). We are in the data collection phase.

♦ Uncorrected visual accuities at distance, intermediate, and near for blended vision with a mini-mono approach using Softec IOLs (LensTec). We are in the data collection phase.

Comparison of YAG cap rates - Hydrophilic Softec IOL vs. Hydrophobic Acrylic IOL. We are in the data collection phase.

Hoffer H5 IOL Formula. We are in the data collection phase where gender and race are factored in IOL power calculation formulas.

A Retrospective Data Analysis of MEA Patients Having SJO™ test for Sjogrens Syndrome Testing as Part of Their Dry Eye Disease Workup. We have compiled the data and are working on data analysis and on writing the article for submission.
 
 
 
 
 

Cynthia Matossian, MD, FACS discussed study results looking at keratometry readings in pre-surgical cataract patients with normal tear osmolarity versus hyperosmolarity with Eric D. Donnenfeld, MD. Dr. Matossian explains how testing her patients' tear osmolarity helps her achieve the best possible cataract surgery outcomes.

Cynthia Matossian, MD, FACS was honored to represent her alma mater, George Washington University, as part of the inauguration ceremony for the new president of Drew University in Madison, NJ.

The new president, MaryAnn Baenninger, was formerly the president of the College of Saint Benedict in Minnesota and is a long-time friend of Dr. Matossian's.

Ilya Rozenbaum, MD, Joanne Carr, OD, MPH, and  Joan Micucci, COMT attended the Glaukos GC007 Investigational Meeting in San Diego, CA to exchange ideas with other glaucoma leaders involved in minimally-invasive glaucoma surgery research in October.

Priya Desai, MD, MBA and Matossian Eye Associates were featured prominently in the program for the 2015 Annual Fundraiser of the Eye Foundation of America who work to eliminate avoidable childhood blindness by providing eye care to remote areas.
