Issue 60                                                                                         August 4th, 2015

Tin Cup Products, LLC was formed in the spring of 2009 by two Northern Virginians with a shared passion for the game of golf.

They are a proud sponsor of Caddy For A Cure

Based on USGA Rule 12-2 that states all golfers must be able to "identify their ball" during play, they believed there was a need to create something unique as a way to personalize each players golf ball.

Tin Cup is 100% "Made in the USA" and patented. It is a stainless steel ball marker that is guaranteed for life. It was voted one of the best new overall products at the 2010 PGA Merchandise Show.

Tudi's Tribe at the John Deere Classic

We know Jordan Spieth was pretty excited to win the John Deere Classic in a playoff, but we are pretty sure there were some families that enjoyed the great week in Moline even more - the families from Tudi's Tribe!

This annual event epitomizes what we do. It is using golf and our relationships in the world of professional golf to give hope and encouragement to some people who have it incredibly rough. Tudi's Tribe is an organization dedicated to assisting children and families suffering with cancer. The work they do in the Quad Cities is utterly remarkable.

Several years ago, Tudi's Tribe had a putter made and painted the names on the shaft of children in their group who they've lost. The parents of those children come together on the 18th hole and in a tribute to their children, carry the putter. TOUR player Jason Bohn then putts with it on 18. Enter tissues, lots of them.

Seeing that putter, and seeing this Mom, who just lost her dear sweet daughter Tori, well, all we can say is thanks to Jason Bohn. By the way, Jason and his wife Tewana donated $10,000 to Tudi's Tribe. This won't hit the papers, won't be on TV, but it epitomizes the charitable nature of the world of professional golf. Thank you Bohn family!

There were all kinds of records set this week. Most "caddy's" in a round of golf - we had it at 17 all inclusive, and another record for the most times caddying in our program. Gerry Malzahn furthered his grasp on most caddy experiences at 7! He has caddy'd over the years for Mark Wilson, Stuart Appleby, Tom Lehman, Hunter Mahan, and now Jason Bohn THREE times! While he is a stalwart caddy, he and his wife Sue are some of the nicest and most generous people walking the planet.

Thanks to Clair Peterson and his staff for the work they do in the Quad Cities. It is unreal what they do. Also, keep these people from Tudi's Tribe in your thoughts as we go the next year away from Moline...they are battling some tough issues, indeed.

Spieth, Fowler, to "Caddy For A Cure"

It is hard to believe but Caddy For A Cure will have 3 of the 5 "majors" winners "caddying for a cure" at the BMW Championships in Chicago during the Fed Ex Playoffs!

The US Open and Masters Champion will have a former program caddy, Dennis McGlone on his bag giving TOUR caddy Michael Greller the day off. To say Dennis is excited...is an understatement!

Also stepping up once again is The Players Champion Rickie Fowler. Rickie has been utterly outstanding with his love and support for Caddy For A Cure, offering up a chance to carry his bag annually since he broke into the top levels of golf. He will have also a former caddy from our program, John Redmond.

John and Denise Redmond have supported our program for years now and John has caddy'd for the likes of Ernie Els, Dustin Johnson, Lee Westwood, and now his fellow OSU alum Rickie Fowler. Can you imagine being able to spend the day with the likes of this stellar foursome?

Caddy For A Cure is honored to raise funds for Birdies for the Brave with these experiences, as well as for the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund. Great causes, great people, great golf!

Our Thoughts...

You know the kid I am talking about. He or she is the first one at practice, and the last one to leave. They are the ones you can depend on to do whatever is needed. They are the ones you have come to expect to get a "please" or "thank you" at the appropriate times. They may not be the best player on the team, but maybe they are. They are filled with many of the qualities of true success in life, they are filled with CHARACTER. They are the kids you KNOW are going to succeed!

With golf being a game of character, we decided to start a program several years ago within Caddy For A Cure whereas companies and or individuals could reward one or more of these youngsters with a chance of a lifetime to caddy for one of the world's best. It happened a few weeks ago at the John Deere Classic.  Caddy For A Cure with Character was set in place thanks to Gerry and Sue Malzahn.

These two young brothers Tait and Pierce Morrissey, were unbelievably impressive well beyond their years displaying some of the most respectful personalities we have seen in years. Their consistent "yes sir" and "no sir" was over the top awesome to hear.
These young men love the game of golf, and they were about as happy as could be to discuss the game with TOUR player Jason Bohn.

Isn't this what it is all about? Isn't this what we SHOULD be rewarding our youth for? And isn't golf the perfect game for integrity, honesty, class, and character?

All we can say is good on you Gerry and Sue Malzahn for this wonderful gift to the Morrisseys. Also a complete and full tip of the cap to Tait and Pierce...we KNOW you are going to be immensely successful at life!

See you soon out on TOUR!

Very Respectfully,

Russ & Colleen Holden
