Presbyterians Pro-Life ENEWS, November 2015
By Marie Bowen, Executive Director of Presbyterians Pro-Life

Dr. Peter Rasmussen, a physician and advocate for "physician aid in dying,'" chose to end his life on Tuesday, Nov 3rd, "on his own terms". Rasmussen was diagnosed with a deadly brain tumor, grade 4 glioblastoma. How incredibly sad that he cut short God's activity in his own life. The article makes no mention of Rasmussen's faith or of any hope of life beyond this earth.

His story is jolting against the backdrop of last Sunday's celebration of the lives of those saints of the church who've gone home from our congregations during the past year.

Both Palliative Care and Hospice Care use a team approach between the patient, his/her physician, primary caregiver, and Hospice team. The decisions of the individual must be followed. For this reason it is important to articulate your wishes in the form of an Advance Directive, Living Will, or Durable Power of Attorney.
Use these bulletin inserts this month or any Sunday of the year to highlight adoption ministry in your congregation.

Resource guide on dementia
None of us want to think about getting older or what might happen to us as we age. Conditions like Dementia are a sad fact of ageing, and many people feel helpless when they see a loved one change beyond recognition. This is a very worthwhile guide on understanding and caring for a family member who has the condition.

Plan now to attend the March for Life and the two related events below:
Pray with PPL
God answers prayer.
PPL is seeking Christians who will commit to PPL's ministry of prayer called
Life Support.

John 6:16-21 & John 2
Pray for courage in the storms of your own life and to be able to bring God's peaceful presence into the storms of others who are fearful and feel threatened.

Pray for the youth in your church that they will not be deceived by a cultural worldview but will hold biblical values of life and sexual purity.
