Please Join Us on Camp Day!
We have a variety of volunteer opportunities and encourage parents to consider joining us on camp day! We especially need camp chaperones for Choraliers and Con Gioia on Saturday morning. Take a look at the options below then click the button below to volunteer.

Ensemble Chaperone
Depending upon the ensemble this could be a very busy or very low-key day! Chaperones enjoy the sneak peek into our upcoming season and the opportunity to experience how MYC teaches and rehearses. Chaperones arrive a bit early and are prepared to help in any way asked throughout the day. Flexibility, energy, and a smile are all that's needed!

Greeters arrive a bit early, smile, and direct "traffic."

Invitation to New Families on Camp Day
New families are invited to a brief welcome session on camp day designed to provide an introduction to successfully navigating the myriad details of the first-year MYC experience. We want your time with us to be positive and this session will help get you started off on the right foot! Plan to stick around for about 45 minutes after dropping off your singer. We'll meet in the registration area. (Don't worry, it will be obvious where to be!)

If you can't stay for this welcome session, we encourage you to be reading the Weekly Notes thoroughly every Thursday and using our website as your first reference if you have questions.
Are You an MYC Enthusiast?
Be a Resource for New Families!
If you are a returning MYC family who has successfully navigated a season with us and you have enthusiasm to spare, you're invited to attend our welcome session for new MYC families on camp day to extend hospitality and provide your perspective on being part of the MYC community. Thank you for considering this opportunity to help welcome our new families! (Use the sign up button above.)
Rehearsal Parent Opportunity: Smiles Wanted!
MYC Rehearsal Parents have the wonderful job of greeting our singers at every rehearsal (with a smile!) and marking their attendance on the ensemble roster. Rehearsal parents commit to arriving 10-15 minutes before rehearsal begins to be in place and ready to take attendance. Once everyone is checked in, phone calls are made to singers who are absent without prior notification. Volunteering to be a Rehearsal Parent is one of the very best ways to feel connected to the MYC community and provides a great opportunity to get to know not only the singers in your child's ensemble (and their families!) but also see how we rehearse and observe the magic that happens each week inside the rehearsal studios.

Thank you for considering this opportunity! Rehearsal Parents are needed for the following ensembles:

Sunday rehearsals: Choraliers; Con Gioia; Capriccio; Cantilena
Monday rehearsals: Purcell

Responsibilities may vary by ensemble. Please email Ian if you are interested and to get more information. Thank you!
Regular Rehearsals Begin September 15 and 16
Your singer's full rehearsal and performance schedule for the entire season can be found on their Calendar located under Current Members on our website. To add your singer's rehearsal calendar to your Google collection simply click the +Google icon to subscribe from our webpage.

Thank you for looking ahead on your singer's calendar and notifying us of future absences by submitting the online Absence Form. We take attendance at every rehearsal and will call you if your singer is absent without our knowledge. (We do this for safety reasons.) Thank you for prioritizing rehearsals and reviewing our attendance policy in our Handbook.

Don't forget to take advantage of back-to-school sales and purchase your singer's 1" black binder for their music this season. Singers should plan to bring their music binder to every rehearsal.
Returning Concert Wardrobe
If your singer is new to Capriccio having sung in Con Gioia last season or new to Ragazzi from Holst, please return their concert wardrobe (Con Gioia dress or boychoir pieces) to the office as soon as possible so we can begin organizing wardrobe for fittings this fall. (See below.)

As a reminder, we do NOT need to be in the office for you to return wardrobe. Please use the blue bin outside our office door making sure your items are labeled with your name.

Questions? Please email Ian.
Let's Get Fitted!
Outfitting 350 singers with their concert wardrobe (and MYC polo) is a huge undertaking each fall. We are offering multiple opportunities to get this accomplished and appreciate your full cooperation in making this a priority in your schedule. Please read the schedule carefully as outlined below and follow the directions for making an appointment (preferred) or planning to arrive early on the designated wardrobe fitting rehearsal days.

All fittings need to be completed by Monday, October 7.

Returning singers in Choraliers, Con Gioia, Cantilena, Cantabile, Ragazzi, Purcell, Britten, and Holst: Please try on your concert wardrobe and return any items that no longer fit (clearly labeled with your name) so your wardrobe is available to another singer then plan to be re-fitted on one of the dates offered below.
Returning singers new to Ragazzi from Holst and new to Capriccio from Con Gioia: Please return your concert wardrobe from last season to the MYC office and plan to be fitted for your new concert wardrobe on one of the dates offered below.
All NEW MYC singers need to be fitted on one of the dates offered below.

If possible, please schedule an appointment! Experience has taught us that scheduling your fitting (as opposed to utilizing the drop-in dates) provides a better opportunity for trying on our MYC wardrobe. Please check all of the available dates to see if you can sign up for one of the times before relying on the drop-in dates. You can also email Ian to schedule an alternative time if necessary.
