A distinctively reformed and presbyterian voice for life

A PPL blog post by Marie Bowen, Executive Director

“It’s sad,” my brother-in-law said quietly with a slight shake of his head. He was relating to me how my husband came into the house to get my phone. I had left it charging on the kitchen counter at my sister’s home. I realized I didn’t have it with me when we got to the car. Always quick to help, my husband volunteered to go get it and I told him exactly where to find it. My brother-in-law found him, barely a minute later, looking confused and unable to remember the reason he had come into the house.
PPL’s Board of Directors recently affirmed our core values during a series of conference calls. At the very heart of all of the efforts of this ministry is the Gospel. Part 3 of our series on this 1995 foundational publication in which PPL proclaims the forgiveness of sin and the resurrection is especially timely!

We Proclaim the Forgiveness of Sins

It is, above all, at the Lord’s Supper that the church gathers together as one. There at the Lord’s Table, by the sacrifice of Jesus’ body broken for us and his blood shed for us, symbolized in the bread and wine, Christ renews our covenant and our communion with our God and with one another.

Reader response
Last month we shared a letter written by David Aldridge to pregnant moms in which he described the blessing of his son's life. David's son has Down Syndrome. A friend of PPL forwarded the newsletter article to Christopher Hunnicutt's dad. He wrote back about what his son, Christopher, also "differently abled", is doing. This great little promotional video demonstrates Christopher's contribution to the 3:15 project. Christopher was also a presenter at the National Down Syndrome Congress a couple of years ago. If you would like to consider Christopher and his dad as speakers for an event, let PPL know and we help you contact them.

"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them."
