Sunday is Concert Day!
We are so very proud of our singers and are looking forward to a full day of celebrating all they have learned and accomplished this spring at our concerts on Sunday at First Congregational Church. Thank you, parents, for the many ways you support your singer's participation in MYC--especially on a busy concert weekend!

If you haven't yet read the MYC Concert Primer that was sent via email on Wednesday, please do so today. It contains all the details regarding wardrobe, parking, tickets, concert reminders, etc. Required reading!

Call Times
Singers should be in their assigned spaces dressed for their concert at the times listed below. This means getting dropped off about three minutes before the call time (no need to be earlier than that!):

1:30PM Concert
Call time is 12:45: Choraliers, Con Gioia, and Capriccio report to Sanctuary
After rehearsing in the hall singers will move to their warm-up spaces:
Choraliers and Capriccio: Chapel (Lathrop Street hallway)
Con Gioia: Fellowship Room downstairs

4:00PM Concert
Britten and Holst: call time is 3:15; report to Chapel (Lathrop Street hallway)
Purcell: call time is 3:30; report to Fellowship Room downstairs
Ragazzi: call time is 3:30; report to Chapel

7:00PM Concert
Call time is 6:30PM
Cantilena reports to Chapel (Lathrop Street entrance)
Cantabile and Ragazzi report to Fellowship Room (basement)

All: Please drop off your singer first (at the times listed above) and then find parking so they are not late for their call time. We will have signs posted and volunteers directing singers upon arrival.

The ticket tables will open to coincide with the call times; the concert hall will open when rehearsals in the hall have concluded. Thank you for your patience!

All Music Turned in on Concert Day
Choraliers, Con Gioia, Capriccio, Cantilena, Purcell, Britten, and Holst:
  • Please remove all your music from your binder before Sunday,
  • clip together
  • label with your name (scratch paper works fine)
  • turn in upon arrival either at ticket tables or in warm-up space
  • Please leave your binders and music bags at home.

Cantabile and Ragazzi will turn in music in their warm up space after the concert.

Volunteering
We still have volunteer slots open! Volunteers commit to arriving early and providing help to MYC staff and singer ensembles as needed while enjoying complimentary admission to the concert. Please consider lending a hand! Thank you!

2018-19 Season Intention Forms
We will still be accepting singer intention forms and deposits this weekend. Please look for the Big Red Box at the Breese Terrace entrance on Sunday.

If you indicated you would be auditioning, please reserve your time as slots are filling up:

Tuition and Fundraising Statements
Updated tuition and fundraising statements were emailed to families who have had activity in the past month or who have an outstanding balance. As a reminder, the fundraising contribution goal may be met by writing a check for the amount remaining and this is considered a tax-deductible donation to MYC.  Thank you for paying attention to your progress toward raising $200!

Turning in Wardrobe
ALL singers not returning next season: Please launder your MYC concert wardrobe and red polo, and return all items clearly labeled with your name to the MYC office. (No need to call ahead--if we're not here, items may be left by the office door.)

Members of Britten and Holst NOT going to Scotland: We will need your wardrobe for the Scotland tour. Please launder and return all concert items (khaki pants, Oxford shirt, tie, and blazer), clearly marked with your name to the MYC office before May 30. Do NOT return your red polo unless you are no longer singing with us.

Members of Britten and Holst participating in the Scotland Tour: please follow the special instructions for returning your wardrobe coming in a separate Scotland 2018 Tour email in the next day or so.

Everyone else: please hang on to your current wardrobe until placements are made for next season.

Sing at the MAMAs (Madison Area Music Awards)
We're looking for a small group of high-school age singers to perform with area band, The Lower 5th on their song "Hope." This performance will require being flexible and available on Sunday, June 17 for early afternoon through the evening (the exact afternoon rehearsal time won't be known for a few weeks.) We'll rehearse with the band sometime in the afternoon and then perform at the evening concert.

It's an exciting event--we've been asked to sing in past years! Those singers available and chosen for this event will also need to learn the song and have a short rehearsal together sometime before June 17, times TBD.

Let Mike know if you are interested.

Cantabile:
Our potential performance on Saturday, June 30, is not happening (not enough singers). Thanks for checking your schedules!
