Bishop's annual charity golf tournament
July 29th, 2016

Even if you do not golf, you can support the Micah Project of Sioux City by sponsoring a hole. And if you are a beginning golfer- or just plain terrible at golfing, but want to have some fun, you can buy mulligans (another swing when things go bad!) You can buy golf indulgences (a piece of yarn that will allow you to mark your ball in a much better position!) And you can win prizes even if you are not a good golfer! With these handicaps you are sure to beat the good golfers! This golf outing is all for fun and the proceeds go to a good local charity- the Micah Project. This is a 4 person team best ball tournament that begins at 10 AM sharp. You can register as an individual or as a team. You can play 9 or 18 holes and enjoy a light lunch for the same low price. But please hurry and register now! If you have any questions, please contact Jeff Ungs at the mission center. (712) 732-4968 x449.

Be the Change

Do you believe that change is ok as long as it doesn’t impact you? Or that you’re a change agent … as long the change is your idea?

We often poke fun at how hard it is for the church to change, but lately, I haven’t found our reality funny. Health risk statistics reveal that church leaders aren’t any healthier in body or mind than the rest of society.

So if we as leaders aren’t living what we preach — that as we serve as God’s hands and feet in the world God calls us to live well financially, emotionally, and physically — it’s no wonder we as a church struggle with attendance, finances, conflict, and sharing our story. Read entire article...

Tammy Devine's monthly reflection invites you to consider how your faith and health are intertwined. She shares her personal journey to help support you in new ways as you strive to live well in Christ — for the sake of ministry in God's world.

Aging Faithfully 2016 Conference

Our lives and faith look different in the second chapter of life. There are new opportunities, and many experiences behind us, too.
You may find yourself asking:
  • What is God’s purpose for me in this stage of life?
  • What does faithfulness look like now?
  • How do I trust Him and have courage as seasons change?
  • How can my faith remain vibrant and strong?
  • How can I help others who find themselves in this stage of life?
