Update from the Director

The warm temperatures and bright sun seem to have awakened the local economy on many fronts. Housing and retail are going strong and many area manufacturers are expanding. This is the ideal time to add more employers to our regional economy like VinylVisions. During my visit to Dallas, TX earlier this month, I met with several site selectors who are actively working with companies seeking communities in which to locate a company. My job was to get and keep the Greater Prescott Region on the radar and in the discussion as a possible location for those expansion plans. Each of these site selectors was interested in visiting the region and seeing all the great assets we had to offer employers looking to expand their operations.
In the coming months, we will be conducting some direct marketing campaigns toward the industry sectors that best fit our local business community and workforce capabilities. In addition, we will continue to make business development trips to Southern California, attend trade shows, and meet with business development consultants. The GPREP videos promoting the region are now available on the website. To support our media efforts, a wide variety of print materials have been created and are being distributed throughout the region, as well as to our economic development partners. If you would like to display some marketing materials on behalf of the GPREP, please let me know.
Best wishes, and I look forward to working with you soon,

Richard Heath

The Region Welcomes VinylVisions!

VinylVisions, a manufacturer of window installation products, is relocating from Norco, California, to Prescott, Their groundbreaking was held on Friday, March 18th with a number of municipal officials, economic development practitioners, and company staff in attendance. The company is constructing a new 45,000-square-foot facility on Centerpointe West Drive, which is just off Larry Caldwell Drive near the intersection of Highway 89 and Pioneer Parkway. VinylVisions will initially employ approximately 30 people with intentions of adding more jobs in the future.
MRO Americas Trade Show

GPREP staff attended the MRO Americas Trade Show in Dallas TX from April 5-7, 2016 and also met with several site selectors that are located in the Dallas-Fort-Worth Area. MRO Americas brings together aviation service providers and manufacturers of equipment and components for the aerospace supply chain. Companies in attendance included United Airlines, Boeing, ExxonMobil, and Fastenal, along with several hundred additional vendors. Part of the three-day trip included visits with site selectors and business development consultants who work with the aviation and aerospace companies that are looking to expand their operations to other parts of the United States. This is an important and growing industry sector for the Greater Prescott Region and a focus of our business recruitment efforts.

GPREP’s Marketing Committee designed a set of three posters to promote the region.
