The Rev. Curtis Benson
April 30, 1937 -  August 6, 2020

The Reverend Curtis E. Benson, retired pastor of St Paul Lutheran Church in Holstein, died Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Unity Point St Luke's Hospital in Sioux City after a brief illness.

Pr Benson was born April 30, 1937 in Hartford, South Dakota. A graduate of Augustana College, Sioux Falls and the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago, he was ordained a pastor of the Lutheran Church in America on June 10, 1964 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Fargo, ND.

Pr Benson served calls at St Paul Lutheran, North Liberty, Indiana; Mt Zion Lutheran, LaGrange, IL; Redeemer Lutheran, Hooper, Nebraska; and St Paul Lutheran, Holstein, Iowa. He retired in 2016.

He is survived by his wife Marilyn; daughters Lisa, Debra, and Laura, and several grandchildren.

Services will be private at St. Paul Lutheran in Holstein, with burial in the Holstein Cemetery.
